OBITUARY
Late John Douglas
This week we record the passing of
a gretly honored and well beloved
citizen of the community in the per-
son of Mr. John. Douglas, of the south
boundry, Stanley Township, about
three, miles north of Zurich -west of
Zurich; who passed on ,to his reward
on Monday noon, June 5th, aged 79
`ears, 11 months and 2 days.,Mr.
Douglas for the past number of ears
has not been in such robust heath,
ospesially the past summer has hrt
failed somewhat, but recently was
getting stronger again, as he enjoyed'
a trip to Zurich last Tuesday evening.
When his health fatted some years a-
go, he gave up farming, having rented
the land, but always remained as 0
resident of the buildings. Mr. Doug-
las was born on this s<ttne farm where
he spent all his life time. A man • of
very high sterling dualities, very
honest and upright, and always it was
a pleasure to meet him. Surviving
besides his sorrowing widow, is a
daughter, Mrs, Thomas Dinsmore only
a mile east; two sisters, Mrs,. (Dr.)
R. Ross, Seaforth, and Mrs. John
Douglas of Cromwell, Mich., The fun-
