The C.C.F. party polled a surprisingly large vate. especially in the industrial districts,• and cut into the old parties in other ridings;: upsetting the calculationsof seasoned politicians. The Conservat- ive party under Col. :George Drew„' has the majority in the house and will likely •be called upon to form a government. In the Huron riding, Dr. R. Hobbs. Taylor, of Dashwood was elected as Progressive Conservative to represent the riding with a majority of 461 over B. W. Tuckey, the Lteral can- didate. In the 11.937 election. Sanies Ballp.ntyne was elected with a. maj- ority of 1180 over Dr. Taylor. Following the receipts of. the full election results from Huron several carloads of friends and supporters of the successful :candidate, Dr. Taylor, toured the ridings and on invitation the Doctor spoke briefly to: large at- tendances. They were at Zurich and he addressed the gathering, from the veranda of Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Gas- cho, when the candidate. expressed himself as not going to Toronto to represent the party alone, but also every citizen of the riding of whom he can serve.
