Our Coal Supply
In a Bulletin recently received urging the peo-
ple of Canada to put in their supply of coal early,
as possible, as later on transportation may become
conjested, and the railways may be found necess-
ary to be used for more essential purposes, so an
appeal is made to all householders, whrrever poss-
ible to fill up your bins and have your supply ready
when the cold days will be here again; And how
quickly these summer months will fly... We are
filling orders as fast as we can get in the coal... So
be wise; put in your order early and have your
coal bin filled when winter comes along.
The Coal Administrator also urges that where -
ever possible people should use Western Canadian
coal and thus conserving exchange and saving
labour. The chief mines in Alberta produced some
2,137,000 tons of domestis coal in 940 giving em-
ployment to 1,966 miners for 95 days only in the
six summer months and to 3,313 miners for 107
days in the winter months.
Let us fill your order for either Alberta, or most
any size of hard Anthracite coal, NOW'

Colder weather is greeting this
part of of the universe, following the
heavy rains 'Monday night it turned
much colder, about nine degrees of
frost on Wednesday morning and the
snow 'flurries are quite in evidence.
Last year this time we were having
practically mid -winter weather, with
roads blocked in places.
Bakery Sold
A business deal of some interest,
was transacted the latter part of
last week, when Mr; Walter Eckel,
proprietor of Eckel's Bakery purch-
ased the bakery business together
with the ;building and equrpment of
Willard's bakery, from Mr. Leeland
Willert. .Possession was given this
Monday morning, and the Willard
Bakery is closed this week Mr and
Mrs. Willard will remain in their
living quarters, while Mr. Willard is
employed as baker in Eckel's 'bakery.

illiminate the extra expenses of ov-
arlwpping. . -

ate and Mound the brother slumped
in the back seat of the up- urned car
in a dazed condition, the discovery
taking place about ten o'clock, sever
al persons had passed the scene of
the accident, but not seeeig .anyone
had not stopped to investigate. Web-
er was travelling east when he lost
control of the car and it left the
road and struck a tree. The impact
was terrific as the left front of the
car was caved right hi and the imp-
ression of the tree was plainly visib-
le on the front and top of the car in
front. The steering wheel was pushed
through the windshield. How the
driver escaped instnat death Is a my-
stery. The car was turned over on its
top and was facing in the opposite
direction. Weber suffered a skull fra-
cture
ructure as well as a double fracture of
the left leg near the hip and many
other bruises. Traffic officer Norman
Lever investigated and stated that it
was remarkable that Weber had not
been killed, his investigation 'showed
that after the front or tine auto
struck the foot of the tree, the rear
struck the tree seven. feet up. For a
distance of 03 feet from the tree
there were no mzanks on the ground,
said the officer, the car was a Ford
coadh of recent model.
