The Coal Administrator also urges that where - ever possible people should use Western Canadian coal and thus conserving exchange and saving labour. The chief mines in Alberta produced some 2,137,000 tons of domestis coal in 1940 giving em- ployment to 1,966 miners for 95 days only in the six summer months and to 3,313.miners for 107 days in the winter mouths. Stirling Habkirk, son of Mrs. B M Habkirk, Searorth, has been officially listed as a prisoner of wear. He was born in St. Marys, in 1922. and lived all his life in. Fred Miller of Seaaforth was fat ally injured on Oct. 2nd while work- ing at the new bridge at Niagara Falls being struck in the back by part of a falling derrick. He was in 41 year, he was born at Dash- wood and lived for a .time near Aub- urn before going to Seaforth. For some years he had been employed with various highway paving comp anies as a concrete finisher and at the time of his death was with the Brennan Paving Co. He is survived by a 'brother, Arnold of Seaforth. The remains were taken to Seaforth for burial. Zimmer—Miller A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized in .St. Boniface E. C. Church, Zurich, on ,Satudaly, 10th„ when when Regina Margaret„ only doaughter of Mr and Mrs' August; Miller of Dashwood became the bride; of Louis Zimmer, son of Mr and Mrs Alex. Zimmer of Dashwood. The bride was given in marriage by her father and was lovely in a gown: of heavenly :blue sheer with navy ac- cessories. She wore a ,corsage of J;4anna Hill roses and carried a white prayer ,book. Miss Ida Zim- mer, 'cousin of the groom, as ;brides- maid, was charming in a gown of American Beauty crepe with acces- sories to match. The bridegroom was !attended .by the bride's uncle, Wm. ,Miller. Following the cerem- ony a, wedding !breakfast was served at the home of the bride's parents, after which the young couple left on a motor trip. On their return they will reside in.
