Mr and Mrs H Legue; Mr and Mrs Alex Legue, Mrs. W E Stirling, all of Chathorn enjoyed a pleasant visit with Mr and Mrs Joseph Foster on Sunday. Mr. Harold Swat-tzentruber of the village and an employee at the Kalb- fieisch planing millll on Thursday of fast week, when in some way he had his leg fractured, both bones being broken and he will be laid up for some time. OBITUARY LATE J. ELGIN HESS . Word was received here last week of the passing of J. Elgin Hess, pro minent electric engineer at General Hospital, St. Catharines at the age of 47. He was a member of the late Fred Hess Sr. family, and after re- ceiving his public schooling in Zurich took an engineering course in Tor- onto University, then following his profession he finally went to St. Cat- harines, eight years ago. Surviving are his widow, a daughter Lynfi one brother, F E Hess, London-; three sisters, Mrs. Gordon Bissett, Goder- ich, Mrs. Gordon Wilson, Crediton, and Mrs. F. Howald, Elmwood, also three half brothers, Andrew and George of Zurich and William Hess of Pontiac, Mich.. The funeral was held last Wednesday at St. Catharin- es. Late Mrs. Wm. Rader This week we reret to be called upon to cronicle the departure of Mrs. Lovina. Weber, beloved wife of Mr, William Rader, prominent re- sidents of Zurich, which took place on. Monday, October 12th, 1942 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vic- tor Dinnin, where she has !been stay- ing during her short illness, she was in her 68th year. The departed was usually of a quiet nature, much de- vated to ,her home and family who will greatly miss her. For many years they farmed on the Rader home, 114th concession, Hay Town- ship until they retired to Zurich, some twenty years ago. She was a faithful member of St. Peter's Luth- eran' church and took part in many activities.. Surviving besides her sorrowing husband are two children, Mr. Milne Rader of town, and Mrs. Victor Dinnin one sister, Mrs. H.H. Neeb, near Zurich. The funeral is being held on Thursday afternoon,at 2,30 p;ni. at the home, thence to St. Peter's Lutheran cemetery for inter - inept. Rev, E. W.:Hetxlrich will be in charge of the services.
