The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 4-H clubs, the Kneeded
7 and The Dough -doe's, was held
at the Hensall United Church
on November 19. Ten girls
answered to the roll call. "The
supper dish you made with bread.

The leaders demonstrated how
to make Chelsea Buns and Hung-
arian Bubble Ring. We waited
until they were baked and then
let them melt in our mouths.
The seventh meeting of the
Hensall 44-1 clubs was held at the
United Church, Tuesday evening.
Thirteen girls answered the roll
call "Nance a use for bread other
than for toast or sandwiches,"
The leaders demonstrated
Puffy Dutch Mini Cakes which
are tiny yeast cakes popular
in Holland.
Plans were made for Achieve-
ment Day on January 10 and
plans were also finalized for a
supper party for our closing
meeting on December 2.

It is easy to get lemon juice
without seeds. Snip a square of
net from a bag of onions if it is
made of nylon material. Cover
the cut side of a letnon and
squeeze; the seeds can't go
through. You can use the yard
goods net and try this with
limes, too.
The annual Christmas meeting
of Hensall United Church Women
took place at the Hensall United
Church, Monday evening. Ladies
from Chiselhurst were guests
for the evening.
The president, Shirley Mc-
Allister, welcomed the ladies and
set the tone of the meeting by
reading a poem, "Sounds of
Christmas." Jessie McAllister,
Mae Rowe and Pearl Erratt
conducted the Devotional demon-
strating by banners and quotat-
ions, "Gifts From Christ,"
Rest, the Keys of the Kingdom,
Power ever Evil Spirits, Living
Water, Bread of Heaven, Eternal
Life and Peace are all gifts from
Christ that we enjoy as Christ-
ians.
Jessie, who took the chair,
read a poem at the beginning
of her devotion, "The Christmas
Symbol" and Mae Rowe conclud-
ed this part with another poem,
"The Star." "While Shepherds
Watched their Flocks," was sung
and the Christmas story read.
After prayer the offering was tak-
en and dedicated and then the
hymn, "It came upon the Mid-
night Clear." Pianist for the dev-
otional was Dorothy Mickle.
For the program, two piano
selections were given by Karen
McAllister, "Angels We Have
Heard on High" and "Star of the
East." Mrs. Marilyn Zivkovic
sang beautifully, "Jesu Bamb-
ino" and "0 Holy Night" ac-
companied by Helen Goddard
and Anita Cook told in an imp-
ressive manner "The Legend on
the Creche." Courtesy remarks
were given by Kaye Elder and
Karen and Mrs. Zivkovic were
presented with gifts. The 'prog-
ram chairman was Helen Scane.

Committee reported 32 boxes
sent out during the year. Anne
Brock reported for Social Funct-
ions around 14 having been
catered to. Helen Scene reported
for Friendship and Visitation that
128 visits had been made, 93
gifts given and 117 cards sent.

went surgery in St. Joseph's
Hospital London last week.

former's brother-in-law and

They were accompanied home
by Mrs. Mooney who will spend
several weeks with them.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Munn
returned home after spending
the past week with their son-in-
law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs.
Don Gooding at Parkhill.

recent visitor with her sister
Mrs. Dealie Adams in Exeter.

4-H girls meet
The `Grand Bend Better Batter
Bread Beaters' 4 H girls, No. 1
club held their. fifth meeting
Tuesday. evening at Mrs. Jack
Smeekens home. Nine girls were
in attendance.
At this meeting they made
cheese .puffs and sampled them
for lunch.
Mrs. Smeekens had baked a
loaf of sour dough bread and the
girls discussed taste, quality and
texture of the bread.
Home assignment was to make
a supper dish or dessert using
bread as the main ingredient.
The girls studied notes on judg-
ing a good loaf of bread.
Meeting next week will be
same time ant' place.
