Zurich Citizens News, 1975-11-26, Page 8Page 8 -Zurich Citizens News, November 26, 1975 Dashwood WI has roll call on money The Family and Consumer Affairs group was in charge of the November meeting of Dashwood Women's Institute with Mrs. Stuart Wolfe convenor. The roll call was answered by 17 memb- ers, "A rule you would give your teenager on money manage- ment." There was also one visitor. Mrs. Irvin Rader discussed the motto, "It is not enough to know the cost; be sure the qual- ity is not lost." Guest speaker, Mrs. Ernest Miller had a wonderful display of candles she had made. She discussed the art of candle mak- ing from early civilization. A11 supplies necessary for this craft were on display and she desc- ribed the various articles to the ladies. Finishing a candle from the mould and dripping were demonstrated. President, Mrs. Ray Rader, dealt with the business. It was. decided to donate a turkey for the best decorated front door in Dashwood for Christmas. Sever- al donations were made to Dash- wood Men's Club for the Christ- mas party. War Memorial Hosp- ital, Children's Aid and Brother Bob Mittleholtz. The piano will also be tuned. The Institute will entertain members and their husband or a friend at a Christ- mas dinner. Mrs. Gordon Bender, District Director, reported on the convent- ion at St. Thomas and also the board meeting in Hensall, PERSONALS Mrs. Helen Grieves was guest of honor at a birthday party at the Dominion Hotel, Zurich, Wednesday, November 19. Others present included Mrs. Mildred Kellerman, Mrs. Letta Taylor, Mrs. Greta Schade, Mrs. Maggie Nadiger and Helen, Mrs. Laura Datars, Mrs. Jessie Rader and Mrs. Ross Love, Following dinner, they all ret- urned to Mrs. Love's house for a social evening including birth- day cake. Mrs. Bob Hayter has returned home from Victoria Hospital, London. Mr. and Mrs. Ross Love spent a few days at Sarnia with. Mr. and Mrs. Clare Love and family. Mrs. Martha Miller is a pat- ient in St. Joseph's Hospital, London, where she underwent surgery. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cudmore, Grand Bend accompanied by Mrs. George Tiernan and Mrs. Albert Rader, Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Kleinstiver and Mr. and Mrs. Norman Scott, Strat- ford attended the funeral of the late Percy Kleinstiver, Chicago, Illinois, list week. Mrs. Earl Keller and Mrs. Ray Rader attended the Royal Winter Fair for the 4-H last week, and the Leaders Breakfast. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rader spent the weekend at Manitoulin Island with Mr. and Mrs. Allan Eagleson and family also visiting with Irwin Eagleson and Mr. and Mrs. Eric Eagleson, Marshall and Marianne. Stacey Rader spent the week- end with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Scott and family, Crediton. Louis Restemayer was guest of honor at the home of his daught- er, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Kraft, Port Franks, at a family dinner on the occasion of his 89th birthday, Friday, November 21. Others present were Mrs. Herb- ert Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnston, and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Restemayer. Constable Richard . Stade, of Kelowna B.C. was a weekend visitor with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stade, Zurich. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Schilbe spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Schilbe. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Muir and sons Davis and Scott and Miss Lillian Burke, all of Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger Foley, and children of London spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Witmer.
