EDWIN STECKLE
Edwin Steckle passed away in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
Sunday, November 16th, 1975.
in his 76th year. Dear brother of
Ivan. RR 3 Bayfield; Alvin, RR
2 Zurich; Mary Ann, Bluewater
Rest Home, Zurich; Mrs. Earl
(Malinda), Gingerich, Arcadia,
Florida, USA.
His parents Mr. and Mrs.
Henry D. Steckle, 3 sisters and 5
brothers predeceased him.
Resting at the Westlake Funeral
Home Zurich until Wednesday
November 19th when
funeral service will be held in
the Zurich Mennonite Church
at 2 p.nt. with Rev. Clayton
Kuepfer officiating. Interment
will be made in the Zuridi
M.enunonite Cemetery. Donation s

You and your wife are cordially invited to attend your
local Zone Annual Meeting of Gay Lea Foods Co -
Operative Limited, as above. The meetings will begin
with registration at 11:30 a.m., followed by lunch at
noon.
One. Director will be elected at each meeting, for a two-
year term. in Zone 2, the retiring Director is Bob
Turner and he is eligible for re-election. In Zone 1, the
retiring Director is Bert Tuintjer and he is eligible for
re-election.
Ten Delegates will also be elected in each Zone for a 3 -
year term.
Your Directors and Management will be reporting on
1975 operations at the meetings. Through several
acquisitions your co-operative has been able to extend
its service to many more producers and at the same
time increase volume through our plants.
We look forward to seeing you and your wife at your
local Zone Meeting.

Grand Bend man jailed 30 days
on drug trafficking conviction
A Grand Bend man, Peter E.
Anderson. was sentenced to 30
days in jail when he pleaded
guilty to possession of drugs
for the purpose of trafficing
in Exeter court, Tuesday.
He was charged on October 24
following. 0 police surveillance of
a telephone junction .box in the
Huron Park area. Judge Glenn
Hays. Q.C., was told that a car
containing three men arrive d
and the drugs were picked up
from the box.
Three packages of marijuan a
were taken from the box and
police found another seven in
the car. . Each contained one
ounce and was said to hase a
market value of 5.200 total. The
other two men said they were
just being given a ride by the
accused in his car and knew °*
nothing about the drugs. They
vverc`not charged. -
Anderson admitted ownership
of the marijuana.
Two stiff penalties were
handed out to two men who
appeared on charges of impaired
driving.
Roanld Davies, RR 1 Exeter,
was fined $75 or seven days
and had his licence suspended
for two years. Hetold thecourt he
suffered from osteomy litis and
had had one leg amputated. Rior
to being stopped by poi ice he had
been in Westminster hospital
in London for treatment and had
been given three drinks of
brandy.
Judge Hays levied a fine of
5.250 or 25 days in- jail against
Harold Bender, RR 1 Exeter, who
was charged on June 1 after
police noticed his erratic driving.
His driver's licence was sus-
pended for six months.
In other cases heard by Justice
of the Peace Douglas Wedlake
and Judge Glenn Hays, the
following penalties were levied.
Wallace C. Maxwell. Hensall
$53 for having liquor in a place
other than his residence.
Wayne R. Kennedy. RR 2
Thorndale, $28 for passing on
the right off the roadway. He
passed a farm tractor pulling
three gravity boxes on October 8.
Gordon D. Bleck, Jr., Zurich.
528 for failing to stop at the
_junction of Highways 4 and 83
on October 5.
Karen S. Smills, London, 5.33
for a speed of 75 in a 60 zone:
Ronald J. Brand, Exeter, $27
for a speed of 42 in a 30 zone;
Jean R. MacArthur, St.Thomas,
$13 for a speed of 50 in a 40 zone.
Douglas L. Jennison. Gran d
Bend, $50 on a charge of common
assault, arising out of an incil ent
at the Dashwood Hotel on Jan-
uary 24 of last year. Jennison
said he had been hit on the head
with a ketchup bottle and did
not recall his actions following
that. The court was told he situ ck
a woman in the hotel.

2. To elect 3 directors for a terns of 3 years. The terms of John Campbell. Claire Deichert and
Donald Brodie have expired. ,lohii Campbell is eligible to be elected for a second 3 -year
term. Claire Deichert and Donald Brodie are not eligible for re-election. Nominations
for the office of Director must he in the hands of the Secretary of The Co-operative 5 days
prior to the meeting.
3. To appoint auditors for the ensuing year.
4. To attend to such matters as may properly be dealt with at an annual meeting,
