COUPLES CLUB
Sixteen attended the first
meeting of the Grand Bend
Couples Club, at the United
Church. Saturday evening.
Program opened with a sing song
and a few games.
The Worship service was cond-
ucted by Jean and Don Weigand
and the theme was "Peace is
our Responsibility."

of a trip. to England and Scotland
this past summer.
A short business meeting was
held and they planned a Christ-
mas Party meeting for evening of
December 13, and invite other
couples to Join them.
Golden Age Club
The Grand Bend Golden Age
Club held their November
meeting Tuesday afternoon at
the Village Inn Retreat with 24
in attendance.
They opened as usual with a
sing song of favorite songs.
President Bill Love conducted
the business. It was decided to
have slide pictures shown at their
text meeting.
After a session of games, lunch
was served by the Inn staff.

Lake, Michigan visited for the
weekend with his parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Kenneth Lynn.
Mr. and Mrs. William Oesch,

and Mr. Charles King of Strat-
lbrd attended the wedding
Saturday of Mrs. Desch 's niece,
Miss Geraldine Martin to Mr.
Les McDougall in the Zurich
Mennonite Church.
Mr. and Mrs. Rick Jeffrey,
Shannon and Ryan of Chatham
were weekend guests of her
parents Mr. and Mrs Logan
Cleave and on Saturday attended
the wedding of Mrs. Jeffrey's
niece, Miss Debra O' Brien to
Mr. Ken Regier.
Mrs. Lloyd Westlake reported
that the recent canvass for the
Arthritis Societ had received
very generous support. A total
of $378.68 had been realized
from the canvass and $58.68
had been received through the
arthritis boxes placed in the bus-
iness establishments. Mrs. West-
lake said the committee were
very pleased and wish to thank
the canvassers and those who
gave so generously. The commit-
tee for the past four years thank
all those who donated cookies
and also the canvassers. From
now on the work will be capably
handled by the Bayfield Lion-
ettes.
The many friends of Mr.
Hales Dresser will be' pleased
to learn that he has been moved
from University Hospital in Lond-
on back to Alexander Marine and
General Hospital in Goderich.
Mr. and Mrs., Clarence Jull of
Burford were with her father, Mr.
Ray Schell for the weekend.
Mr. and Mrs. Les Talbot and
Carrie, Thompson, Manitoba
spent several days with his par-
ents, Ivo-. anu tvtrs. Norman 1 al -
bot. They had flown home to be
with his family following the
death of his grandmother, Mrs.
Ray Schell.

meeting Monday night at the
home of Janet Allister.
Roll call was to show your
baked sour dough bread" and to
judge texture, colour and shape.
Discussion followed on char-
acters of good bread, The home
assignment was to make a supper
dish with bread as the main
ingredient.
Next week's meeting will be
held at the same time and place.
