The Remembrance Day Serv-
ice honouring our "Glorious
Dead" was held from Trinity
Anglican Church on. Sunday mor-
ning, November 9 following a
parade of veterans, Brownies,
Scouts and Cubs who formed up
on Main Street and walked to
the church, for the 10 a.m.
service.
After the church service they,
along .; with the congregation
marched to the Cenotaph in Clan
Gregor Square. 0 Canada and 0
Valiant Hearts were sung follow-
ed by a prayer commemorating
the dead.
Mr. Russ Kerr laid the wreaths
for Bayfield Baptist Church and
the Royal Canadian Legion and
also for the Province of Ontario
for his wife who was unable to
attend. Reeve Ed Oddleifson
for the Village of Bayfield
Harry Baker for Trinity Anglican
Church; John Siertsema for St.
Andrews United Church; W.D.
Armstrong for Knox Presbyterian
Church; Don Johnston for Bay-
field Lions Club; Wynn Graham
for Bayfield Lionettes; George
Clark for Loyalo Orange Lodge
24; Lisa Telford for the Brownies
and Jeff Merner and Trevor
Scotchmer for Scouts and Cubs.
The Last Post and Reveille
were •capably played by Master
McKinley of Zurich. The names
of our Glorious Dead of the war
of 1914 to 1918, Edward Aaley,
Arthur Clark, Harvey Currie,
Kenneth Currie, Russel Erwin,
Victor Evans, Allen McDonald,
Robert McLeod and Wilfred Toms
and for 1939 to 1945, Stewart
Cann, Robert David Hopson and
Richard V. Weston were read.
LADIES GUILD
The November meeting of the
Ladies Guild of Trinity Anglican
Church held their November
meeting on Tuesday in the Parish
Hall.
The meeting was presided
over by the president Mrs. R.
Roy Fitzsimons with the reading
of the collect for All Saints Day
and the poem for Remembrance
Day "In Flanders Fields."
The Lord's Prayer was repeated
in unison. Fifteen members
answered the roll call.
Secretary, Mrs. L.W. Scotch -
mer read her report of the Oct-
ober meeting which was adopted.
Mrs. Merton Merner, treasurer
gave her report and the move that
all outstanding bills be paid was
approved. Mrs. Bessie Hulls,
card and flower secretary will
send out the usual Christmas
cards to shut-ins and close senior
friends of the church who attend
during the summer months.
Mrs. Bill Parker told the meeting
she had visited our former
Rector, Rev. E.J.B. Harrison in
Trillium Villa, Sarnia and found
him much improved in health,
and that he wished to be rem-
embered to all the church memb-
ers and especially sent his best
wishes to our Guild. The A.C.W.
has extended an invitation to the
Guild to be present at their
Corporate Communion on Friday,
November 28 followed by a pot-
luck luncheon in the Parish
Hall. Mrs. Maude Weston and
Mrs. Berthena Hammond will
purchase the Sunday School
gifts for the children 's Christmas
Party.
A slate of officers for 1976
will be brought in at the Dec-
ember meeting, by Mrs. Bill

ided that the Guild meetings
will be held at 2 p.m. the
second Tuesday of each month
during the winter months. Plans
for the Christmas Bazaar, Bake
Sale and Tea in the Parish Hall,
Saturday afternoon, November
15 at 2 p.ni. were finalized.
The next meeting of the Lad-
ies Guild will be held in the Parish
Hall, Tuesday afternoon, Decem-
ber 9 at 2 o' clock. The meeting
closed with the Benediction and
Mrs. George Youmatoff and Mrs.
Berthena Hammond served a
lovely lunch.

of Management met Tuesday

evening in the Parish Hall and
discussed the calling of a Rector
to take the place of Rev. George
Youmatoff who will be leaving
Bayfield on January 1 to assume
his new duties as Rector of St.
Lukes and St. Johns Anglican
Churches in Brantford. The
Parochial committee of Trinity,
Bayfield and St. James, Middle-
ton will meet with Bishop Ragg
in London on Monday evening to
select a new Rector. It was learn-
ed that the A.C.W. of Trinity
were purchasing a plaque for the
church to be dedicated in memory
of the late Mrs. Gertrude G.
Gairdner, and were sorry to hear
that Mrs. Fred Arkell is back in
hospital. The Board gratefully
acknowledged a donation to the
Rectory Fund.
Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Higgins
spent a day recently with Mr.
and Mrs. Barry Baker in Lake-
side.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mac-
Vean visited last Sunday with
Dr. Walter and Mrs Oakes
(formerly of Clinton) in Owen
Sound.
Mr. and Mrs. Gordon A.
Stewart, R.R.2 Ripley and Mr.
and Mrs. E.W. Erickson spent
the weekend in Port Huron, Mich-
igan.
Mr. Bud Sturgeon and Miss
Barbara Davidson visited for the
weekend with her parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Bob Davidson in
Windsor. On Monday and Tues-
day they were the guests of
Bud's family, Mr. and Mrs.
Jack B. Sturgeon and Andrew.
Mr. and Mrs. Logan Cleave
attended the wedding of their
grandaughter, Miss Debra
O'Brien to Mr. Ken Regier on
Saturday in St. Joseph's Church.
Debra is the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Eugene O'Brien and
Ken is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Clement Regier, all of Zurich.
Mr. and Mrs. Larry Lamont
of Goderich; Miss Sharon Oesch
and Mr. Charles King of Strat-
ford were guests for the weekend
with the ladies parents, Mr. and
Mrs. William Oesch and sister
Terri, Goshen Line. Scott Lamont
who had been visiting his grand-
parents for the past week, ret-
urned home on Sunday with his
parents.
Best wishes to Mrs. Nancy
Castle who was able to leave
Clinton Hospital on Thursday
after a confinement of almost
two months. We wish her compl-
ete recovery and continued good
health.
Mrs. Margaret Garrett, Diane
and John spent Sunday with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom
Handy in Seaforth, and also
visited with Mr. and Mrs. Owen
Johnson and family of New-
market who were the weekend
guests in the Handy home.
Mrs. Ivan Bahm and daught-
ers Connie and Sally of Pontiac,
Michigan were recent guests of
Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Higgins at
"The Maples." Mrs. Bahm rem-
ained with her cousins for a few
days and was accompanied on her
return home by Mr. and Mrs.
Higgins who stayed Friday and

Obituary
MRS. IZORA SCHELL
Mrs. Ray (Izora Morse) Schell
passed away on Wednesday,
November 4, in South Huron
Hospital, Exeter after a short
illness. She was in her eighty
fourth year.
Mrs. Schell is survived by her
husband and five daughters,
Effie, Mrs. Al Freeman, Wood-
stock; Janet, Mrs. Norman R.
Talbot, Bayfield; Phyllis, Mrs.
Kenneth J. Talbot, Halifax.
N.S.; Irene, Mrs. C.M. Jull,
Burford and Miss Evelyn Schell,
Ayer's Cliff, Quebec. Twenty-
six grandchildren and twenty-
nine great-grandchildren also
survive.
The late Mrs. Schell rested at
the Mac Smith Funeral Home in
Woodstock where the funeral
Service was conducted by Pastor
Brian Harrison of Bayfield Bapt-
ist Church. Interment was in Ox-
ford Memorial Gardens, Wood-
stock. Grandsons of .the deceas-
ed acted as pallbearers.
