Bells are ringing, the periods end, children in the halls are hurrying to a new class. Teachers are busy with less- ons in the classrooms. and the Lard is filled at recess and noon hour with colour. move- 'nent, and laughter. Everyone seems glad t ohe hack, antic- ipating a happy, busy year ahead. Kindergarten has a high enrolment of 65. 'Mrs. Gem- ma. the Kindergarten teach- er, has been assisted by Mrs. Scroggs, Brueeficld, and Mrs. Shaw, Exeter in introducing the little ones to school , • sol routines. Our total enrolment is 580, which represents a decrease :,f about five pupils since `Nast June. We welcome nine new fam- ;lies to our school: The teath- ers to Tuckersmith Township from London; LeFaives to Stanley Township from Kes- wick; the Beddows to Egm- ondville from Toronto; -the ltloss family to Brucefield from Lucan; the Andersons to Bayfield from HolmesviIle, the Eastons to Bayfield from Holmesville: the Brockle- banks to Tuckersmith Town- ship from London; the Marl - Mrs. Albert Deichert, Mrs. Percy Willert and Mrs. Earl Deichert presented the topic entitled "Good News - Bad News" to twenty-six ladies and Pastor Blackwell 't the meeting of the Lutheran . hurch Women, on Tuesday evening. September 9. President, Mrs. Harvey Hohner conducted the busin- ess meeting. Mrs. Glen Thiel joined the Lutheran Church Women as a new member. Correspondence received frpm Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, annunced the meet- ing of the Seminary Ladies Auxiliary on Septemb- er 24, to which all ladies are invited. An invitation has been. rec- eived from the Hensall United Church Women, to be their guests at their general meet- ing on Monday evening, October 6, at 8:15 p.m. Rev. Daynard from Staffa will be the speaker and pres- ent pictures taken on his recent tour in Africa. The district assembly of Lutheran Church Women will take place at Elmwood, Wednesday, October 15 at 10 a.m, Plans are being made for two car loads of ladies to attend the assemb- ly. Mrs. Allan has worked as a supply teacher in our school in past years. She is a graduate of Stratford Teacher's College, and has taught previously at Hensall and Tavistock. Mrs. t nne,$ ff; Allan is working toward her degree, and when time per- mits, enjoys travelling or sew- ing. Miss Wilhelmina Vossen is our new Oral French teacher, teaching French. from Grades three to eight. Miss Vossen graduated from Althouse College in June 1975. She received her B.A. degree from Laurentian Univ- ersity in Sudbury, a bilingual university. Miss Vossen's special interests, besides teaching French, are swimming and sewing. Mr. H. Pulsifer, of Seaf- orth, has been setting up classes for guitar lessons.
