The regular meeting of St.
Paul's Anglican Church Women
was held Wednesday afternoon
with a full attendance, at the
home of Helen Roberts. Presid-
ent, Mrs. Anderson opened the
meeting with the Load's Prayer.
The minutes .of the previous
meeting were read and approved.
Roll call was answered by
naming a household hint. A
thank -you card was received from
the Aldwinkle family for flowers
sent in memory of Mrs. Aid -
winkle, An invitation was accep-
ted to attend the 85th birthday
party of the WMS of Carmel
Presbyterian Church.
A questinnaire concerning
"Sunday -work or common day
of rest" was filled in. Mrs. And-
erson gave the highlights of the
Diocesian council held in London.
The study book "Distractions
dilute your faith" was given by
Mrs. Forrest.
Mrs. Middleton read the scrip-
ture from Mark 16. The meditat-
ion was given by Helen Roberts
and Mrs. Windover, followed by
the Litany and prayers. The
meeting closed withprayer.

the sermon topic "Religion can
be fun" for the communion,
confirmation and the welcoming
of members from other churches
service in Hensall United Church
Sunday morning. The choir
under the direction of Mrs. Turk-
heim sang the anthem "Gracious
spirit, love divine."

to join the Hensall choir for choir
rehearsal sothat they may part-
icipate in the Anniversary serv-
ice.
Sunday, June 8 at 11.a. m.
Hensall and Chiselhurst will be
celebrating United Church's
50th anniversary and the Hensall
congregations 127th anniversary.
Jack Burghardt of CFPL-TV will
be the guest speaker and Miss
Elaine Westlake, of,Zurich will
be the guest soloist. A fellow-
ship hour will be held following
the service.

Queensway highlights
On Tuesday, the church serv-
ice was conducted by Rev. Roeda
of Exeter, with Louise Mitchell
accompanying on the piano.
The Christian Reformed
Church Women of Exeter entert-
airied the residents by taking
those who were able for a drive
to Exeter park for a few hours on
Monday afternoon. Refreshments
were served there. Alice Roose-
boom was in charge and a most
enjoyable afternoon was spent.
On Saturday, May 31, Mrs.
Minnie Squire celebrated her
birthday. With her to celebrate
were Helen and Debbie Reid, of
Hensall; Harry and Norma Gettes-
man, Ola Davis and Edna Ander-
son of Exeter, Sally and Lottie
Scott.

er and Mrs. R. Larson of Bayfield
Varna 4-H Club
The second meeting of the
Toiling Tillers was held on
May 12 at Mrs. J. Stephenson's.
Everyone was present and the
minutes were read. Discussion
was mainly about ways of cultiv-
ating and fertilizing your garden
and how to plant and care for
vegetables.

some of the residents one after-
noon last week.
Mr. R.E. Pooley visited Lynn
Latimer. Les Mitchell, Credit-
on visited his mother, Louise
Mitchell. Fred Taylor visited

and Rose Harris visited with Bern-
ice Lavery.
Celebrate

anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Fuss, pop-
ular Hensall couple, were hon-
oured at a surprise event Satur-
day night on the occasion of
their 25th Wedding Anniversary.
The evening began with a din-
ner at the Bayview Tourist Tavern
on highway 21.
Later in the evening friends
and relatives gathered to honour
the couple at Hully Gully, at a
dance.
The family and relatives pres-
ented thein with an anniversary
clock.
The entire event was arranged
by the daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
Fuss, assisted by Mrs. Turemner,
the mother of Mrs. Fuss.
