Bayfield. council
tour village streets

Bayfield council at their
regular meeting Monday even-
ing, accepted with thanks a
cheque for 325 from the Bayfield
Area Bluebird Society as their
gratitude for the use of the
basement of the Old Town Hall
for the winter construction of
nesting boxes.
Council decided to invite the
administrator of Alexander Mar-
ine and General Hospital, God-
erich, to speak at their meeting
on June 2 following a letter
received from him regarding a
detailed research project and the
upgrading of facilities at the
Hospital.
Members of council learned
that the clerk, G. Graham, will
be out of his office on Thursday,
May 22, attending a meeting
in Craighurst of the Association
of Municipal Clerks of Ontario,
Zone 2. They discussed the
public meeting for Saturday
May 31, at 2 p.m., in the Old
Town Hall to go over the aspect;
of a legal survey of village
streets. In attendance will be
James Gairdner of the Legal
Survey's Branch and Jack Gray,
O.L.S. London.

Council also decided that a
future date would be set for the
hearing of the proposed rezon-
ing changes of the McFadden
and Stotesbury-Leeson propert-
ies.
In other business council dec-
ided to tender for the cutting
down of the hill on River Street
and the moving of the road to
its proper position.
Following a tour of the village
streets on Sunday it was learned
that the gravelling is almost
completed and that calcium
will be laid, and also that those
streets intended for paving are
ready. All this is to be cornpl-
eted by the May 24 holiday
weekend.
Because of the holiday falling
on Monday, May 19, the next
regular meeting is scheduled for
May 21.

South Huron Association for the Mentally Retarded will begin next week. Trainees at' the ARC
workshop at Dashwood are preparing the envelopes. Association campaign chairman Mrs. Kathleen
