from a most enjoyable three
month winter holiday in Braden-
ton, Florida. While they were
in Florida they were joined by
their sister and daughter, bliss
Evelyn Schell of Ayer's Cliff,
Quebec.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Talbot
attended the wedding of her
cousin in Lansing, Michigan
last Saturday.
Miss Winnie Armstrong,
George Brown College, Toronto
spent the weekend with her
parents, and family, Mr. and
Mrs. W.D. Armstrong, James
and Julia. Sunday guests with
the Armstrong family were Mr.
and Mrs. Laurie Scott, of
Blyth and Mrs. Milton Pollock,
Goshen Line.

Fanshawe College, London at
their annual get to-gether at
the cottage of their Advisor,
Bill Walker, where they enjoyed
a steak supper followed by a
party at the Albion hotel. The

Youtuatoff spent two days in
New York last week at the exp-
ense of the. B.B. C. where they
had been invited in order to do
a documentary film on the
forced repatriation of Soviet
Nationals during the late stages
of the Second World War.
While Mrs. Yownatoff liter-
ally ."tratuped the sidewalks of
New Yorl<, " the Rector was busy
for three hours answering quest-
ions in front of the 'camera and
taking up old memories. Ile is
one of the few people left who
cn,speak from first hand know- •
ledge about this rather unpleas-
ant phase of the War; a phase
which involved forcing people
to return to Russia against their
will; of inass suicides and dem-
onstrations and purges of those
so returned.
This is, in his words, one of
the periods which he would rath-
er forget, but, even after all
this time. he feels that the story
must be told. After the filming,
both the Rector and Mrs. You-
tnaroff spent some time wander-
ing around seeing the sights and
enjoying their first look at New
York City. After all that, they
both declare that they still pref-
er Bayfield where a certain deg-
ree of sanity is still in evidence,

killed a dog on County Road 31.

a truck driven by Elroy Desjard-
ine, Zurich, on Goshen Street,
Zurich. Damage was estimated
at $300 by Constable Ed Wil-

Classy Lassies Meeting on
Monday, April 14 with our
Pledge, at the home of Mrs.
Merner. Our roll call was answ-
ered by all members present.
The business part of the met;ting
was with Dawn Emilia McLeod
demonstrating joining seams in
our blouses. Mrs. tMerner show-
ed us how to do a french seam
and a flat felled seam. Then
some of us worked on our
blouses. We closed with the 4-1.1
