Zurich institute
make quilt
The March meeting of the
Zurich Women's Institute took
the form of a quilting party,
when two days were busily spent
quilting. Several ladies from
the town and country assisted
the W.I. members. Several
large quilts and crib quilts were
completed.
In a short business meeting
a donation of $15. was made .
to the Heart Fund. Plans were
made to attend Grand Bend
W.I. on March 20. Mrs. L.
Klopp and Mrs. T. Meyers
were appointed as a nominat-
ing committee to bring in a
slate of officers at the annual
meeting in April.
Thanks was expressed to all
the ladies who came and help-
ed with the quilting.

Zurich delegates
attend hydro
convention
Fred Haberer, Leroy Thiel
and Isidore Laporte, to all of Zur-
ich Hydro -Electric System,
were among over 1400 delegates
representing electric utility
commissions from across the
province at the Annual Conv-
ention of the Ontario Municipal
Electric Association (O.M.E.A,
Also attending was local hydro
manager Charles Eckel.
The Association represents
more than 340 municipal elect-
ric commissions which distrib-
ute electric power to two and
one-quarter million households
in Ontario.
Delegates to the three day
annual meeting, held at the
Royal York Hotel, March 2 to 5,
were involved in discussion on
significant issues that affect
their consumers.
The program was highlighted
by an address by R.B. Taylor,
Chairman, Ontario Hydro, and
a panel presentation on "Rate
Structures - Which One? When?
Why?" Panelists were Roland A.
Kampmeier, Consulting Engin-
eer of Chattanooga, Tennessee
and Dr. Irwin M. Stelzer,
Economist and Consultant from
New York City. Both men are
leaders in the field of utility
rate structures. Panel moderator
was A,J, Bowker of Gloucester,
retiring president of O,M.E.A.

Although we have been exp-
eriencing lower temperatures
than we have had during most
of the winter, and we seem to
have had most of our winter
storms during the past couple
of weeks, but the sun becomes
warmer each day and spring
will soon be officially here.
Films were enjoyed as usual
on Monday evening, followed
by a social time.
On Tuesday evening, the
auxiliary held their regular
monthly meeting. A program
was presented in the dining -
room for the enjoyment of the
residents. Mr, Clare Masse
played the guitar and sang and
was accompanied on the piano
by
Mrs.Bill Masse. Little Lori
ri
Masse sang a solo and was ac-
companied on the guitar and
piano by Mr. and Mrs. Masse.
Mary Ann and Margaret Ver-
rnunt and Joyce Rau sang acc-
ompanied by Miss Jenine Rau
playing the guitar. Following
the program, refreshments were
served.
The annual meeting of the
4-H girls ready
to sew

On Wednesday, March 5, the
4-H girls met at the town hall '
at 7 p.m. All the girls were
present. We opened with the
4-H Pledge. We couldn't have
our secretary's report as she
forgot to bring it.
Our roll call was "What we
need in our wardrobe." Some
of the answers were, Levis,
GWG's and Road Runners. We
got our tops cut out and marked.
Next week we will be sewing.

Mr, and Mrs. Charlie Hoffman
led the singing and favoured witl
a duet during the service.
