workshop and stock to the part
of the Petty block formerly
occupied by the Jackson factory.
Ontario motor car license
markers for 1925 willbave
yellow numbers on a dark back-
ground, just the reverse of 1924
markers.

The ladies of the Red Cross
are quite busy cutting and
others are getting ready to do
knitting.
The past week surely brought
us in the midst of a real old
Canadian winter. Plenty of
snow and old Jack Frost dipping
down considerable below the
zero mark, makes us realize
that winter is here.
Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Ortwein
celebrated their golden wedd-
ing anniversary at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. G.M. Drysdale.

Earl Flaxbard met with a
painful accident at his home
when he fractured a hone in
his right foot.
Miss Dorothy Rader, Dash-
wood, is spending some time
at the home of her sister, Mrs.
Leonard Prang.
Howard Klumpp had the mis-
fortune to slip while working at
the mill causing an injury to
his back.
Rev. and Mrs. Ferguson and
family, i-Iensall, were visitors
in IIainilton.

Reeve Milton Oesch•told
Zurich's village council that
the proposed new fire hall is
undoubtedly the biggest project
for the year 1905. No indicat-
ion was made whether the
project has received approval
as Zurich's Centennial project.
Councillors for the year 1965
are Mrs, Allan Gascho,
W.B. Coxon, Leo Meidinger
and Gordon Hess. The Reeve
is Milton Oesch and Mrs. Elda
Wagner the clerk -treasurer.
Council voted to purchase
a 1962 Ford tractor and loader
equipped with two buckets at a
cost of $1751 plus the old tractor
Ian McAllister was named
chairman of the new Board
to serve flay Township School
area.

Obituary
GEORGE E. KERSWILL
George Edward Kerswill, 72,
of 1376 Keystone Blvd., presi-
dent of Air -Way Sanitizor of
Ohio Inc., vacuum cleaner
company, Akron, died in Akron
General Medical Center after
an apparent heart attack at
home.
A native of Elk. Rapids, Mich,
1 Mr. Kerswill had lived in
Akron since 1934.
i I -Ie was a member of St.
Paul United Methodist Church,
Barberton, National Lodge 568
F & AM, Portage Chapter
202 RAM, Akron Council 80
R&SM, and bowled for the
Michael F. Swinehart Insurance
Agency, Barberton.
IIe was a World War II
veteran.
He leaves his wife, Greta
Schilbe, daughter, Mrs. Myrna
Roberts, Akron, and six grand-
children.
Funeral service was held on
December 31, from the Mills
Funeral Home, Barbeton.
Interment was in Greenlawn
cemetery.

New contract

Wages will range from $3.45
to $3.65 effective January 1,
under the one-year contract.
Huron County deputy clerk -
treasurer, Bill Hanley said
that the wage increase will add
about $500, 000 to the annual
budget of Huronview. County
Council will be asked to ap-
prove a 1975 budget of about $2
million for the home at its Jan-
uary session.
Hanly said the wage increase
was designed to bring the staff's
wages to a level comparable to
hospital workers.
Clara Riley, negotiating
chairman said the employees
"are all happy with the agree-
ment. We voted 100 percent
in favour of it."
She said that under the prev-
ious two-year agreement the
service employees were just too
far behind.
