Indian summer over
ready for Christmas
It looks as though
 gh
wehave
lost Indian Summer for this year
so we might as well settle for
winter since many people,
including ourselves, are getting
into the swing for Christmas.
Our Christmas decorations are
being put up in readiness for
numerous Christmas functions
which will be taking place be-
tween now and Christmas.
On ' Monday evening films
were shown, followed by re-
freshments. Anyone interested
in coming to visit will be wel-
come to join the audience.
On Thursday afternoon a
number of our Residents went
to Maplewoods Apartments
where they enjoyed the movie
"Mrs. Wiggs of the Cabbage
Patch". This Thursday, Decem-
ber 2nd, the movie "The Egg
and I" will be shown during the
afternoon beginning at 2:00
p.m., also during the evening
at 7:30 p.m. We hope all the
Seniors of the area will feel
free to take in this show being
held in the recreation room.
As I mentioned previously,
for further information you may
contact Mrs. Leroy O'Brien
or Mr. O. Todd.
Bingo was held on Friday
Y
evening followed by refresh-
ments.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the
Home will be holding their
Christmas meeting on Tuesday
evening, November 7th at 7:00
p.m.
Tickets are being sold for
the quilt display in the Home
and may be obtained either at
the Tuckshop or office. This is a
Resident project and the draw
will be held on Monday, Decem-
ber 20th.
As I mentioned last week, we
are in the market for odds and
ends of knitting wool and the
"legs" containers.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Donald Beck of Hensall United
Church. Mrs. Lenore Turkheim
presided at the organ and ac-
companied the choir during the
service. The Residents were
pleased to have a number of
visitors present.

Sind -gong at Huronview
The Clinton Christian Reformed
volunteers were at Huronview
Monday to assist with the ac-
tivities. Marie Flynn, Lorne
Lawson and Norman Speir
provided the old tyme music for
the first part of the program
followed by a sing -song.
The Harboraires,, a men's
chorus from Goderich and
surrounding area, entertained on
Family Night. Owing to the
illness of their leader Mr. George
Buchanan and pianist, Ed Stiles,
John Greidanus was emcee for
the program and Rev, John
Woods played the ac-
companiment.
The men sang several old

favourites, a negro spiritual,
some Christmas carols and
finished the program with a
sacred number. Mr. George
Jenner, one of the original
members of the Harboraires,
expressed the appreciation of the
residents and invited them to
come again sometime in the New
Year.
The residents enjoyed an af-
ternoon of organ music on
Thursday played by Mrs. Elsie
Henderson and Jake Roorda.
Special Christmas programs
have been planned and beginning
December 5 the Seaforth Com-
munity Band will play for a
concert at 2 p.m.; seventy
students of the Exeter Roman
Catholic School will present their
program on Tuesday, December
14, at 2 p.m.. and the Seaforth
Lions will pay their annual vysit
on December 19 at 2 p.m.
The residents appreciate the
generous gifts and donations that
have been presented to the Home
to be used for added comforts.
The Kinette Club of Clinton
have presented a cheque to cover
the major part of the purchase of
another Ambulift for the Home.
The Huronview Auxiliary has
made a donation to the ambulift
and have purchased two geriatric
chairs. A cash gift has been
received and will be used for
similar equipment.
