Hensall loses
The Zurich Flyers defeated
the Hensall Intermediate 'team
by a score of seven to tiro last
Thursday night at a game play-
ed in Hensall.
Hensall started well, scoring
the first goal at 6:05 of the first
period as Fred Campbell hit the
net assisted by Brian Camp-
bell, However, after that Zurich
took over, scoring three times in
the first period.
Pat Bedard opened the scor-
ing for the Flyers assisted by
Dino Desjardine and Glen Over-
holt. Steve Bedour followed
with the Flyers second goal
assisted by Wayne Clarke. The
final goal of the first period was
scored by Steve Bedour again,
this time assisted by. Bob
Farquhar.
The second period was a
more closely fought battle, but
the Flyers still managed to
score twice while keeping the
'Hensall team off the score-
board. Dino Desjardine scored
for the Flyers assisted by Pat
Bedard followed by a hat -trick
as Steve Bedour scored his third
goal of the game assisted by
Kim McKinnon.
Penalties hindered both
teams in the third period as a
total of 17 penalties were hand-
ed out, seven to Zurich and 10
to Hensall. As a result, the
Flyers managed to score twice
more before the end of the
game. Steve Bedour cashed in
on his fourth goal of the game
assisted by Kim McKinnon and
Kevin McKinnon. Richard Schi-
lbe scored for Zurich at the
12:10 point of the third period
assisted by Steve Bedour and
Wayne Clarke. Hensall had the
final say scoring at 12:45 of the
third period on a goal by Bill
Cameron, assisted by Fred
Campbell to make the final
score the Flyers 7, Hensall 2.
Goderich loses
In a high scoring game in
Zurich on Sunday, the Zurich
Flyers defeated the Goderich
Intermediate team by a score of
lO to six.
Zurich started off the scor-
ing at 2:10 of the first period
with a goal by Steve Haberer
assisted by .Kim McKinnon.
His was answered with a goal
by the Goderich team as J.
Bell found the target assisted by
C. McDonald. Zurich finished
off the first period with a goal
Hawks win twice
The Exeter Hawks won two of
the three Ontario Hockey
Association Junior "D" hockey
games played this week.
Wednesday in Ilderton, the
Hawks doubled the score 6-3
defeat in Mt. Brydges and Sun-
day night in Zurich they out-
scored the same Mr. Brydges
club 10-6.
The Hawks travel to Port
Stanley tonight, Thursday to
meet the Port Stanley Lions;
Friday they go to Seaforth to
meet the Centenniares and Sun-
day night they will be back on
home ice at the Zurich arena to
meet the Tavistock Braves.
Game time is 8: p.m.
In Sunday's victory over Mt.
Brydges, the Hawks scored two
goals in the first four minutes of
play and were never headed
although the visitors stayed close
for the first period. The Exeter
club decided the issue with three
unanswered goals in the final
period.
The first Hawk marker came
do a power play at 2.46 of the
opening period when Rick
Ingram hit on a three-way effort
with Brian Taylor and Steve Jen-
nison,
Only a minute later, Paul
Pooley made it 2-0 converting a
pass from Matt Muller. Before
the period was over, Brian
Taylor and Gerald Weido tallied
for the Hawks. Assists were
credited to Gerald Weido, Paul
Brooks and Rick Ingram.
In the middle frame, Brian
Taylor and Paul Pooley scored,
on unassisted efforts and Ken
Pinder counted with passing help
from John Van Gerwen and Jim
Ferguson.
Paul Pooley completed a hat
trick with a successful shot at
3.10 of the third period on a play
started by Jim Ferguson. In the
later stages, Gerald Weido
scored from Rick Ingram and
Noel Skinner and Steve Jennison
scored on a solo effort.
Late in the third period in Mt.
Brydges Saturday night, Hawks
coach Glen "Rocky" Weise
received a game and match
penalty •for chasing the referees
across the ice.
Manager Fred Mommersteeg
will take over the coaching
duties while Weise serves a
suspension. The length of time
the coach will be out of action
is not known at the moment, It
could be for at least four games.
The Hawks took the lead quick-
ly Saturday night as Perry
Pooley scored on a power play in
the first minute. Gary Toth of
Mt. Brydges was penalized after
only nine seconds of play. Phil
Knight assisted on Pooley's
successful shot.
The other Exeter marker
came in with only four minutes
left in the third period.

in the second period as Jim
Hayter scored unassisted at
7:01. However, this was follow-
ed by three Zurich goals as

non; Glen Overholt assisted by
Pat Bedard and Wayne Clarke
unassisted found their tar-
gets. Goderich ended the
second period with a goal by
C. McDonald.
The third period of the game
was fast moving and score
filled with Zurich scoring twice
in the first minute of play. Pat
Bedard assisted by Glen Over-
holt and Bob Farquhar scored
at the 15 second mark of the
third period followed by Rick
Schilbe assisted by Pat Bedard
scoring at the 50 second mark.
These two goals were answered
by Goderich as Jim Hayter
scored unassisted and R. Whet-
stone scored assisted by C.
McDonald. Zurich came flying
back to score three more times
in the third period as Bob
Farquhar scored assisted by
Kim McKinnon followed by a
goal by Ken Smale assisted
by Ron Rader and 'Bob Far-
quhar. The final Zurich goal
was scored by Ron Rader
assisted by Ken Smale and
Wayne Clarke. Goderich ended
the game with a goal by F.
Hagan to make the final score

united in marriage, October
9, 1976 at the Latchford United
Church.
The groom is the son of Mr.
and Mrs. Arnold Keys, Varna
and the bride is the daughter

After a wedding trip to
