Best bazaar ever
held at Huronview
President, Mrs. Connie Col-
clough chaired the November
meeting of Huronview Home
Auxiliary when reports were
given of the most successful
bazaar, tea and bake sale on
record held in the home.
Many thanks are extended to
everyone throughout the county
who contributed to help make
it a wonderful affair.
It was voted to use the pro-
ceeds to purchase two wheel-
chairs, one of these to be a very
special one for an incapacitat-
ed resident of the home who is
confined to her room. With
this special chair she will be
able to control it herself and
get around to see her friends
and what is going on round
about.
Plans were made for the an-
nual Christmas Fair which is
scheduled for December 6.
This event enables the residents
to purchase various articles with
paper money to the value of
82.00 which each one is given
and they enjoy the social hour
together over a cup of tea and
cookies.
The Auxiliary wishes to ex-
tend heartfelt gratitude to all
who so generously contribut-
ed money to help in this worthy
project. Many thanks to Mr.
Stewart Middleton who donated
two bushels of rosy, red apples
which were distributed to the
residents for Hallowe'en and
were greatly appreciated.
The Auxiliary will be in
charge of the January birth-
day party and will not be meet-
ing again until March 21. Sea-
sons Greetings are extended
to all members of the. com-
munity from the Auxiliary mem-
bers.

Fewer
In the nine months ending
September 30, statistics show 129
fewer drivers and passengers
killed and 9,765 fewer injured in
motor vehicle accidents, com-
pared to the same period last
year, Transportation and Com-
munications Minister James
Snow reported today.
"My Ministry feels and many
police and safety officials agree
that Ontario's seat belt law and,
to some extent, lower speed
limits have had a considerable
impact on this drop," said Mr.
Snow, "even though not everyone
is buckling up and many
motorists continue to drive
faster than the posted speed
limits."
M.T.C. statistics show that 808
drivers and passengers were kill-
ed during the first nine months of
1976, compared to 937 at the
same time one year ago, a
decrease of 14 per cent.
"Even more impressive is the
17 per cent decline in the number
of drivers and passengers in-
jured. A total of 49,201 people
were hurt in traffic accidents
through the first nine months of
1976, compared to 58,966 in 1975.
That's close to 10,000 fewer in-
juries and that's a step in the
right direction.
"If this trend continues, I'm
optimistic that by year's end On-
tario will have had the lowest
highway death and injury rate
in 10 years," said the Minister.
Mr. Snow concluded that "our
latest figures indicate that

ber; they will be visiting the
town shut-ins during the first
week; they are holding a Christ-
mas party for the area child-
ren on December 11 at the

On December 13, the Kins-
men will be taking the senior
citizens to CKNX for the tap-
ing of the Circle 8 Ranch
Show and the Kinettes will
serve lunch at the Three Links
Centre.
As a highlight for their
December meeting, the Kin-
ettes will visit the Country
