On behalf of the Blue Water
Rest Home and the members of
the Ladies Auxiliary of the
Home, we wish to thank all of
the Ladies of the Community
for the terrific response to the
bazaar and bake sale on Satur-

appreciate the many donations
of home baking also the articles
for the bazaar table. By all
reports this was perhaps the
most successful bazaar and tea
that the Auxiliary has held dur-
ing the 10 years of our opera-
tion. Again we say thank you
to the general public for their
interest and support.
On Monday evening films
were shown followed by re-
freshments.
We are pleased to report
that Mr, William Preszcator

Classical movies shown
to seniors at Maplewood
Classical movies are avail-
able to the Golden Agers in the
area thanks to funding received
by Maplewoods Apartments
from a New Horizons grant.
However, the person who
dreamed the entire thing up is
a resident of Maplewood, Mr.
DeBosdari.
Mr. Debosdari suggested to
Mr. Joe Risi of the Bluewater
Rest Home, such activities as
movie watching would help the
older people in the area to
escape once in a while. The
program he has selected is
composed of the older classic
movies, not the "Knock about"
lar arrangements "might be
available for those wishing such
a service in Dashwood.
Mr. DeBosdari is trying to get
"The Sound of Music" to show
in the spring, but so far there
has been nothing definite
concerning that particular mov-
ie.
Mr, DeBosdari has made a
schedule listing the movies
to be shown for the first part
of the winter. They are:
November 25, 1976 - Mrs.
Wiggs and Cabbage Patch
December 2, 1976 - Egg and I
-December 9, 1976 - Going My
The movies will be shown
every Thursday at 2 p.m. and
7:30 p.m. Anyone wishing more
information in the Zurich area
should call Mrs. O'Brien,
236-4396. Those in Dashwood
should call Mr. Todd, 236-
4500.
The New Horizons grant will
last Maplewoods through two
winters of movies according to
Mr. DeBosdari.
Although most of the movies
will be the old classics, Mr.
DeBosdari feels there should
perhaps be some of the better
adult movies of the present
day included, such as "Other

comedies, but the good classi-
cal movies.
"I do not want to introduce
anything which will be contro-
versial, " Mr. DeBosdari ex-
plained, "but I want to give
people a chance to escape a
little." The first movie, "Ma
and Pa kettle", was shown last
Thursday afternoon.
Beginning in January Mr.
DeBosdari wants to get a new
program from the National film
board which includes some ex-
cellent documentaries for vari-
ety from the classics.
The films are not just for the
residents of Maplewoods. On
the contrary, Mr. DeBosdari is
even trying to get permission
to use the rest home bus to
pick up some of the Zurich
ladies who wish to attend and
take them home again at night
so they would not have to worry
about cars. If the demand is
there, and arrangements can
be made, Mr. DeBosdari felt
similar arrangements can be
made, Mr. DeBosdari felt simi-
