Toronto visited over the week-
end with her mother Mrs. Emma
Farquhar.
Mrs. Oliver Jaques' who un-
derwent major surgery in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London
returned home from hospital
after two and one half weeks and
has been returning to Victoria
Hospital London for treatment
for three weeks,
Bert Coleman of London spent
the week -end visiting with his
mother Mrs. Gladys Coleman
and brother Ivan.
Rev. W.D. Jarvis conducted
service in Carmel Presbyterian
Church on Sunday the sermon
was "The all sufficient Christ,'
Mrs Malcolm Dougall presided at
the organ. The flowers in the
church were placed in loving
memory of the late Mrs. Allota
Foster.
Mrs. Mooney who resides with
her daughter and son-in-law Mr.
& Mrs. Joe Flynn was taken to
South Huron Hospital Exeter,
where she is receiving treat-
ment.
The C.P.T. committee of the
I.O.O.F. Lodge, Hensall have
wheel chairs, walkers, and
crutches available for use.

Mr. and Mrs. John Skea,Sr.
spent the weekend with their
son and family, Mr. ' and Mrs.
John Skea, Jr., Colin and Karen
in Brampton.
Mrs. Grace Peck's grandson,
Mr. Dan Jackman, was an
officer on board the Lady Mar-
garet, a privately owned yacht
which weighed anchor in New
York harbour on the day of the
Presidential election recently.
If Ford had been victorious he
would have boarded the yacht
for a Victory Cruise. Events
turning out differently, it set
off for a cruise for Florida
but a sudden storm came up
and all were swept overboard.
Luckily Mr. Jackman was
among those rescued from the
rubber dingy they were float-
ing in. Mrs. Peck is thankful
her grandson was among those
saved.
Federation
of agriculture
The Ontario Federation of
Agriculture annual convention
will be held November 29, 30 and
December -1, at the Holiday Inn,
Hamilton.
The guest speaker Monday
November 29 will be Joe Clark,
Leader of the Conservative Par-
ty.
Conadi n council
of the blind
The Huron County Canadian
Council of the Blind Blue Water
Club held their closing meeting
for 1976 at the Orange Hall Clin-
ton, with a good number present.
A raffle was held by the club.
The proceeds go to aid theOver-
seas Blind. First prize a lady's
purse went to Mrs. James
Breckenridge of Wingham, se-
cond prize a wicker tray went to
Miss Amie Lammfe of Hensall,
third prize a cuddlybrown poodle
won by Mrs. E. Burford of Strat-
ford. The prizes were hand made
by the blind.
A new slate of officers was
brought in for the new year.

president: Bert Soothern, Clin-
ton; secretary treasurer: Mrs.

The meeting was adjourned
and Louise Breckenridge con-
ducted a talent hour, with each
member taking part. A delicious
lunch was served by Mrs. George
Cox and Rachel Johnston.
Bran Muppets
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 2 4-11 Club, the Bran
Muppets, was held on Tues-
day evening, November 16,
at the home of Mrs. Cecil
Pepper.
They discussed the pros and
cons of convenience foods and
read labels and information on
boxes of cereals. A ginger-
bread cake was prepared with
a choice of either brown sugar
or lemon sauce. This was en-
joyed by all.
Ruled Oats
The sixth meeting of the
Hensall 3 4-H Club. the Rolled
Oats, was held at 7:30 p.m. on
November 16, at the home of
Janice Bisback. Seven girls ans-
wered the roll call which was,
"My two free choice cereal
recipes from the members
pamphlet". The demonstration
was hot water gingerbread and
lemon sauce which was enjoyed
by all the girls present.
United Church
The United Church Service
was conducted by Rev. Don
Beck on Sunday with Mrs.
John Turkheim at the , organ.
The sermons was called "Three
Possibilities" and told how we
can answer God's command by
(1) saying no, (2) saying yes
and doing it and (3) saying
yes and doing it. The choir

sang, "I want Jesus to walk
with me" and the flowers were
in loving memory of Mrs, Allota
Foster.
Amber Rebekah
The Cancer Polio and
Tuberciosis committee of the
IOQF and Amber Rebekah
Lodges met in the local hall,
Tuesday evening.
Glen Koehler was appointed
chairman for the ensuing year
and presided for the meeting.
Mrs. Margaret Consitt gave the
financial report.
A donation was voted to the
CNIB and to the War Memorial
Children's Hospital. Euchre par-
ties were planned for January 6,
1977 and February 17, 1977, Plans
were made to remember shut-ins
at the Christmas season, same to
be. delivered December 19.

21st, 1976, Samuel G. Rennie,
of Hensall, in his 71st year.
Beloved husband of the former

Sarnia, Mrs. Don (Mary -Ann)
Bender, RR 1, Dashwood, Mrs.
Art (Dianne) Werner, Kitchen-
er, and Suzanne Rennie, Toron-
to. Also surviving are 10 grand-
children. Rested at the Bon-
thron Funeral Home, Hensall,
where service took place on
Wednesday, November 24th
at 2 p.m. with Rev. W. Jarvis,
officiating. Interment Hensall
Union Cemetery.
