Hay -Dashwood drain extension
Hay rejects Ministry requestnest
a
Hay township council reject-
ed a request from the Ministry
of Transportation and Commun-
ications in regard to extending
the Hay -Dashwood drain at
their regular meeting of council
last week. The Ministry wanted
the drain extended 300 feet to
the east of its present Location.
Council rejected the request as
the portion of land Ministry
wanted included is not the
watershed on the initial report
for the drain.
One application under the
Shorelines Protection Act was
received in the amount of
$3,500.
Council received an applica-
tion for a tile drain loan in the
amount of $6,500.

be sent to the Huron County
Board of Education and the

tions is November 15.
Support resolution
to buy Ioclly
Stanley council concurred
with a resolution received from
the town of Markham at their
regular meeting last week.
The resolution dealt with the
purchase of equipment for
sports activities through Win-
tario. They believe the ability
to get the equipment is good,
but Markham council does
not agree with Wintario's
policy of only buying from a
large Toronto based distribu-
tor. They wish to have the
supplies bought locally, in the
area they will be used in.

township were sent checks of
