The final weekend of the
1976 Western Fair will be
highlighted by two separate
parades.
On Saturday, September 18,
members of Optimist clubs
throughout Ontario will parade
to the fairgrounds as part of
the celebrations. during the
52nd annual convention of the
Ontario District of Optimist
International.
The parade, expected to
include 72 units—floats, march-
ing groups, bands and major-
ettes—will move off from
• Centennial Hall on Wellington
Street at 3 p.m. and proceed
south on Wellington to King
Street, 'then east to the fair
grounds, arriving at 4 p.m.
On Sunday, September 19,
about 300 Shrin'ers, uniformed,
musical and mobile units will
parade to the . Western Fair
'grounds.
The parade will :assemble at
the Masonic Temple on Duffer -
in Avenue and at 12:15 p.m.
will move west on Dufferin
to Colborne Street, south to
King Street and east to the
fair grounds.
The units will arrive at the
Western Fair grandstand at
1:00 p.m. where the Potentate
will take the salute and the
mobile units will perform man-
oeuvres for the grand stand
audience.
The Optimist and Shrine
parades will be " a colorful
aspect of this year's Western
Fair, which begins its ten-day
run on Friday, September 10.
