Mother's Day turned out to be
a beautiful clay, just like most
people hoped it would. I noticed
by the register that quite a
number of Residents were out
with their families sometime dur-
ing the day, either for dinner or
a drive. Please keep in mind
the annual Spring daffodil Tea
and. Bake sale to be held this
Saturday, May 15th from 2:00
to 4:00 p.m. Entertainment has
been planned for the afternoon
and 1 ani sure the Auxiliary will
very much appreciate your pre-
sence.
We are pleased to welcome
Mr. Edgar Squire to the Honie.
He is a fernier resident of the
Granton area.
On Tuesday evening. the
Ladies Auxiliary held their
regular monthly meeting begin -
nine 1\ ith a progratnnle in the
dining -room. The programme
bean with community singing
and the children of Mr. and
Mrs. Leon Bedard entertained
ith tap dancing numbers, sing-
ing and piano solos. Refresh-
ments were served and the
Auxiliary adjourned to the Board
Rooni for the business part of
the meeting.
On Friday eyeing bingo was
played followed by refreshments.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rcv.
Andrew Blackwell of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Zurich. Miss
Elizabeth Dciehert and her
mother, Mrs. Earl Deichcrt sang
a duct accompanied by Elizabeth
on the guitar. Mrs. Deiehert
presided at the organ during the
chapel service.
Displaying her sewing at the 4-H Achievement Day held
in Clinton last Saturday was Karen McAllister of RR 1,
Zurich, who was awarded County Honors for completing

The first meeting of the Zurich
4-H Calt' Club was held at the
home of Kathy Love on Wednes-
day May 5.
The president, Bill Dciehert
opened the meeting with the
4-H pledge. The secretary,
AdrianRasenhcrg gave the
roll call and secretary's report.

Women's Institute was held in
the Hay Township Hall, Monday,
May 3. The committee in charge
was Mrs. Harvey Hohner, Mrs.
Newell Geiger, Mrs. Harold
Thiel and Mrs. Milford Doerr.
Douglas Klop played two piano
selections which were enjoyed by
all.
The guest speakers. Mr. and
Mrs. Bill Raninicloo of "Farmer
Bills" Green Houses, presented
many useful hints for house and
garden plants. They also had a
display of some plants.
The president, Mrs. Newell
Geiger, welcomed guests and
members and presided over the
business meeting.
Mrs. Lorne Klopp reported on
the Executive meeting in Hensall
from which considerable business
arouse.

of the Faculty of Social Work
of Wilfred Laurier University
and the Steering Committee for
the proposed Huron Mental
Health Centre for Children and
Youth,
He is a member and past.
president of the Goderich Rotary
Club, and chaired the London
Symphony Orchestra series in
Goderich this past season.

was History of Dairy cattle.
Paul Klopp explained the lessons
more throughly to each group
and explained what you would
look for in a good cult'.
Each nieniber answered the
quiz on the lessons and discussed
the answers.
Any questions members had
onpT0iects were answered.
Mr. and Mrs. Love were thank-
ed by Paul Klopp and other
members for letting the club
use their home.
The next meeting will be held
at the home of Paul Klopp on
May 26 at 8:30 p.ni. sharp.
Tuesday afternoon in their
dining area, We would hope that
the visitors to that area who play
the piano would feel free to play
a few numbers; and I know that
it would be greatly appreciated.

America and Western Canada
w ere shown by Clifford and Jean
Henderson of Brucefield for
"Fancily Night." The Hen-
derson's gave a very interesting
commentary along with the
pictures and Clifford's mother,
Mrs. Elsie Henderson, played
piano favourites before the
program and during intermission.
Miss Mary Van Camp expressed
the appreciation of the residents.
The week of June 20-26 is
being recognized as Senior
Citizens Week in Ontario and
plans are being made to have
Open House at Huronview.
It is hoped that the Senior Citi-
zens Clubs and individuals will
join the residents of the Home to
help -celebrate this event and
present a program or join in the
activities during the week.
