secretary -treasurer Mrs. Anne
Steinbach whose resignation
tabled Monday, takes effect
February 13.
Mrs. Steinbach 's financial
statement showed that while
the society is starting off the
year with a deficit of $360.40,
it's in better shape than one
year ago when it was $894.46
in the red. For 1975, the board
had receipts of $4,817.86 and
expenditures of $5,178.26, in-
cluding bank loans.
Main topic of discussion at
the society 's annual meeting
was the fall fair. Members were
told that the turnout was good
considering the weather exper-
ienced. Fair food booths exper-
ienced a boom as concessions
were not allowed to sell food.
Jt was suggested that more bands
and floats be encouraged to take
part in the fair parade;
Reviewing the response to
livestock sections, the horse
section was reported as excell-
ent. "There were more horses
around than people," said one
director. There were no cattle
at the fair with the exception of
the 4-H calf entries. There were
some sheep entered but the swine
classes drew no participants.
Delegates were authorized to
attend -the annual convention
in Toronto, February 18-19.
During the presentation of
the financial report it was Learn-
ed the 1973 Provincial Grant
was obtained through the efforts
of MP Bob McKinley. Members
of the Society were appreciat-
ive of Mr. McKinley's interest.
