Dr. Mustard honoured
Among the Canadians that
were made officers of the Order
of Canada by Governor General
Jules Leger, was Dr. William
Thornton Mustard, He is the
Chief of Cardiovascular Surgery
for the Hospital for Sick Children
and a Professor of Surgery at the
University of Toronto. He spent
every summer of his boyhood at
the family cottage on the Old
Clinton Road. He and his brother
Neil gathered butterflies and
crawley creatures and learned to
classify them by their Latin
names. This interest in biology
led him into medicine where he
has had a very interesting and
worthwhile career. Earlier
