Zurich Citizens News, 1977-12-15, Page 25SANTA IN HENSALL — Santa Claus visited Hensall Thursday night 'and was the feature attraction at a Kinette club sponsored Christmas party. T -A photo Seniors at Hensall enjoy festive event The Three Links Hensall Senior Citizens Club met on Tuesday, for a pot luck Christmas dinner. 52 members enjoyed a plentiful spread of turkey and the trim- mings. During the business following, invitations were received from the Kinsmen to attend a program at the Bluewater Rest Home on Monday, and an invitation from the Kippen East Women's Institute to a luncheon at the Legion Hall on January 18. Information about a two week bus trip to Florida, organized by the Clinton Seniors, was also received. Entertainment on saxophone and piano was given by Mr. & Mrs. Murray Christie and on violin and piano by Joe Bawden and Mrs. Isabel Rogerson. Murray and Marg Christie also showed slides of a Carribbean cruise they had taken. The programme was arranged by Mr. & Mrs. Alf Ross and Mrs. Tom Brintnell and the lunch committee were Mr. & Mrs. Bert Horton and m Mrs. Clendon Christie. A.C.W. Meets St. Paul's A.C.W. resumed their meetings after entertaining at the Queensway Nursing Home. The president, Mrs. Frank Forrest, opened the meeting with the "Members Prayer". Mrs. Annie Reid read- the scripture. Boxes for the shut-ins were looked after. Mrs. G.A. Anderson gave the study book and then closed the meeting with prayer. Don Beck. Susan Flynn lit the fourth Advent candle signifying Joy and the Children'' Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Pam Scot- chmer, sang three numbers, "Mary had a Lamb", "Still, Still, Still" and "Christmas Candles". In the place of a sermon, Rev. Beck told. a story in two parts illustrating the conditions of children 100 years ago and the efforts of dedicated men to im- prove their circumstances and the circumstances of some children of today, and todays efforts to aid them. Flowers in the sanctuary were in memory of the late Gordon Love donated by his family.
