I am sure no one wants to be
reminded of the weather con-
ditions that prevailed last week
and all the inconvenience that it
caused. Since we must keep
operating around the clock
regardless of the emergencies
that might occur, we are thankful
for the assistance of staff
members who spent their nights
here and worked double shifts in
order to insure that everyone was
properly fed and taken care of.
Due to the number of activities
planned fir the month of
December, we will not be
showing films until after the New
Year. The annual Christmas
party sponsored by the Ladies
Auxiliary was held on Tuesday
evening,
Mr. Alfred Ropp and his family
of Ailsa Craig provided the
musical programme which was
very much enjoyed. Santa Claus
arrived and presented each
Resident with a gift. A delicious
lunch was provided.
The annual Christmas party for
Residents and their families was
scheduled for Thursday evening
here at the Home. We regret that
the weather was such that very
few families were able to attend
as well as some of the en-
tertainers who had made plans to
come. However we are very
grateful to Mr. Bob Heywood of
Centralia and- Calvin Horner of
Greenway, Miss Sally and
Sandra Finlayson of Kippen and
Mr. Joseph Boland of Maplewood
Apartments who entertained the
Residents and guests who had
braved the elements to help make
the party the success that it was.
We also wish to thank the
members of the ladies auxiliary
who came to assist with the
refreshmetts.
Bingo was played on Friday
evening followed by refresh-
ments.
The movies which have been
shown every week at the
Maplewoods Apartments will be
suspended until March at which
time we will be advising you of
the dates scheduled.
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Bruce Guy of Zurich United
Church. Mrs. Milton Oesch
presided at the organ and ac-
companied the choir who ren-
dered several numbers.
