choose new officers
Following a morning of quilting
Tuesday the Chiselhurst U.C.W.
met with president Mrs. Harold
Parker opening the meeting with
a poem "A Message for Today"
Mrs, Harold Parsons was in
charge of the worship "China is
no laughing matter". A
Remembrance poem was
followed by two minutes sifence.
The roll call was answered by
members giving a Bible verse
with "Peace".
The year-end reports were
given by all committees and a
report of the visiting committee.
Mrs. Jack Brintnell extended an
invitation to all to attend a
congregational supper November
18. Mrs, Clarence Coleman
continued the study from the
study book "Employment in
China".
Mrs. Dick Taylor who was in
charge of the program gave
Harold Parker; coommunity
friendship, Mrs. Earl Kinsman
Hensall
Hilda Payne
Bertha McGregor
several poems on "Remem-
brance"„ The president Mrs.
Parker closed the meeting with
prayer. Lunch was served by
Mrs. Ed Dick and Mrs. Rosa
Harris.

The C.P.T. committee of the
Oddfellow and Rebekah Lodges
met Thursday evening in the
lodge rooms with Jack Upshall
conducting the meeting. Plans
were made to hold a euchre
December 1 and in January and
March. Donations were voted to
the arena and to the Children's
War Memorial. Plans were made
to deliver the shut-ins Christmas
boxes December 18 at 2 p.m.
Legion Holds Banquet
The local branch of the
Canadian Legion held a banquet
Friday evening in the Legion Hall
which was attended by 70 per-
sons. The Ladies' Auxiliary
catered to the meal. Jack Riddell
MPP was the guest speaker.
Harold Knight, Reeve of Hensall;
Jack Tinney, Reeve of Hay;
Ervin Sillery, Reeve of
Tuckersmith spoke briefly.
Two life time members Harry
Horton and Peter McNaughton
were in attendance. Following
the program a social hour with
the ladies' in attendance was
enjoyed.

Edgar Munn is a patient in
South Huron Hospital, Exeter
where he is receiving treatment.
Mrs. Harold Parker returned
home after visiting with her son-
in-law and daughter Mr. & Mrs.
Don Dalton and Carla at
Seaforth.
Lorne Chapman was taken by
ambulance to St. Joseph's
Hospital, London where he is
undergoing treatment,
Miss Dorothy Farquhar,
Toronto spent the weekend with
her mother Mrs. Emma
Farquhar.
Gerry McClinchey of Brantford
visited over the weekend with his
parents Mr. & Mrs. Edgar
McClinchey.
Mrs. Gordon Troyer who was
receiving treatment in Victoria
Hospital London was transferred
to South Huron Hospital, Exeter
last week.
