The hobby shop was buzzing with activity last week, finishing up articles to be exhibited in the Senior Citizen's class at the Zurich fair Saturday. Twelve articles were put on display. Our boxes of nylons and panty hose are becoming empty: we would appreciate receiving any un - wearable ones. We are pleased to welcome Mr. William Decker, fromerly of Zurich as a new Resident. Mrs. Alice Thompson is presently a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, We wish her a speedy recovery. The children of St. Peter's Lutheran church Bible school visited the home Friday morning and presented a musical program which was very much appreciated by residents. Refreshments were served following bingo on Friday evening. Saturday afternoon a number of residents attended the parade in Zurich. Mrs. Mary Weston, Miss Cecil McLeod, Miss Susan Hartman, Fred Fowlie and William Decker had ring -side seats on the floats of the Mocha Shriners; so they were able to enjoy the large crowd which had gathered for the occasion. The sympathy of Residents and staff is extended to the family of the late Mr. William Preszcator. The Seaforth Brass Band led by Doctor Toll entertained on the front lawn at Huronview Friday evening. The residents enjoyed hearing some of the old band numbers. Following the program at the Home the Band played for a concert in the Clinton Library Park. Congratulations to John McCallum who received the prize for being the eldest member in the July 12 parade at Bayfield. John will be celebrating his ninety-fifth birthday in Sep- tember. The Clinton Pipe Band provided the Family Night . program and all of the residents were able to take advantage of the music as the band used the front parking lot for a parade square. The Elimville Womens Institute were hosts for the' July birthday. Mrs. Janet Coward was emcee for the program and musical numbers were provided by Danny and Joey Gower, Elaine and Margaret Pym, piano melodies by Marjorie Johns, step dance numbers by Shelly & Sandra Finlayson. The 23 celebrants received gifts from the Institute and birthday cake and lemonade was served by the ladies. Mrs. Waghorn, who was formerly from Elimville, thanked the Institute on behalf of the ladies, The Sunday evening chapel service was conducted by Rev. Andrew Blackwell of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Zurich. Mr. Douglas Klopp played the organ. Kippen pair visite o In east t By MRS. RENA CALDWELL Mr. & Mrs. D.E. Mr. & Mrs. Garry Alderdice and family Nova Scotia are visiting relatives in the Kippen area. Mary Jane McGregor, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. James D. McGregor, R.R. 2 Kippen became Queen of the Zurich Fair at the Beauty. Queen Competition held in Zurich Friday June 22. Mary Jane was Miss Style Beauty Salon and was the entry of Miss Sylvia Merner of Hensall. Congratulations. ht Miss Melanie Lovell, daughter dau gr of Mr. & Mrs. Keith Lovell competed in the talent show at Zurich Friday evening. Each contestant received a silver spoon, Mr. & Mrs. Grant McGregor have returned from a holiday in Texas. Mr. & Mr GrantCaro, Mrs. Love Michigan attended the Cooper annual reunion at Bayfield. Mrs. Harry Caldwell is visiting relatives in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Mr. & Mrs. Ed McBride are visiting in Timmins with Mr. & Mrs. Steve Pine and family. Mrs. Sadie Wren is moving into an apartment in Hensall. Auxiliary meets at Huronview The Huronview Auxiliary, rneeeting in the Craft Room Monday, July 18, decided to purchase an Air -mattress which would benefit the bedridden patients as it helps by relieving pressure on the joints. Mr. Archibald addressed the meeting and explained about the mattress. The meeting was chaired by the president, Mrs. C.Colclough and opened with the members repeating the Lord's Prayer. Mrs. McNichol, the secretary, read the minutes and Mrs. Leola Lockhart, Treasurer, gave the financial report. Roll call was answered by naming a favourite hobby or pastime and many favoured reading during the current hot weather. Mr. & Mrs. Leroy O'Brien have returned to Maplewoods Apart- ments after spending a few days with their son and daughter-in- law, Mr. & Mrs. Bill O'Brien and family in Burlington. Mr. & Mrs. Reg Illsley, of London, spent the weekend with Mr. & Mrs. Ed Gascho, in Zurich. Mrs. Beatrice Rader was visited by her family recently. Mr, & Mrs. Clair Zurbrigg and family of Kitchener and Dr. and Mrs. E.R. MacAulay and Andria of Schubenacadie, Nova Scotia, spent the weekend of July 16-17 with her, On Sunday, July 24, the Stanley Stars defeated the Pine Lake Panthers 27-18. This is the third victory in a row for the Stars, in the Ladies Softball League. Their last triumph took place July 17, when they scored 19-16 against the Bayfield Good Times, R. K.
