BLUE WATER REST NOME
Golden Glimpses
Everybody is catching up on
their rest, now that we have some
relief from the intense humidity
and heat.
The hobby shop was buzzing
with activity last week, finishing
up articles to be exhibited in the
Senior Citizen's class at the
Zurich fair Saturday. Twelve
articles were put on display. Our
boxes of nylons and panty hose
are becoming empty: we would
appreciate receiving any un -
wearable ones.
We are pleased to welcome Mr.
William Decker, fromerly of
Zurich as a new Resident.
Mrs. Alice Thompson is
presently a patient in South
Huron Hospital, Exeter, We wish
her a speedy recovery.
The children of St. Peter's
Lutheran church Bible school
visited the home Friday morning
and presented a musical
program which was very much
appreciated by residents.
Refreshments were served
following bingo on Friday
evening.
Saturday afternoon a number
of residents attended the parade
in Zurich. Mrs. Mary Weston,
Miss Cecil McLeod, Miss Susan
Hartman, Fred Fowlie and
William Decker had ring -side
seats on the floats of the Mocha
Shriners; so they were able to
enjoy the large crowd which had
gathered for the occasion.
The sympathy of Residents and
staff is extended to the family of
the late Mr. William Preszcator.
The Seaforth Brass Band led by
Doctor Toll entertained on the
front lawn at Huronview Friday
evening. The residents enjoyed
hearing some of the old band
numbers. Following the program
at the Home the Band played for
a concert in the Clinton Library
Park.
Congratulations to John
McCallum who received the prize
for being the eldest member in
the July 12 parade at Bayfield.
John will be celebrating his
ninety-fifth birthday in Sep-
tember.
The Clinton Pipe Band
provided the Family Night .
program and all of the residents
were able to take advantage of
the music as the band used the
front parking lot for a parade
square.
The Elimville Womens
Institute were hosts for the' July
birthday. Mrs. Janet Coward was
emcee for the program and
musical numbers were provided
by Danny and Joey Gower,
Elaine and Margaret Pym, piano
melodies by Marjorie Johns, step
dance numbers by Shelly &
Sandra Finlayson.
The 23 celebrants received gifts
from the Institute and birthday
cake and lemonade was served
by the ladies. Mrs. Waghorn, who
was formerly from Elimville,
thanked the Institute on behalf of
the ladies,
The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Andrew Blackwell of St. Peter's

at Huronview
The Huronview Auxiliary,
rneeeting in the Craft Room
Monday, July 18, decided to
purchase an Air -mattress which
would benefit the bedridden
patients as it helps by relieving
pressure on the joints.
Mr. Archibald addressed the
meeting and explained about the
mattress. The meeting was
chaired by the president, Mrs.
C.Colclough and opened with the
members repeating the Lord's
Prayer. Mrs. McNichol, the
secretary, read the minutes and
Mrs. Leola Lockhart, Treasurer,
gave the financial report.
Roll call was answered by
naming a favourite hobby or
pastime and many favoured
reading during the current hot
weather. Members may buy
remnants if theythey
think are a
bargain and give the bill to the
Treasurer, this material to be
made into something for the Fall
Bazaar.
