Dashwood minister at camp,
summer school plans for fun

Rev. M. Mellecke, pastor of
Zion Lutheran church was one of
the counselors at Camp Pioneer,
Angola, New York state last
week; Rev. Barz, Goderich and
Rev. A. Rader, Bramalea were
also in attendance. Mrs.
Mellecke, Judith, Jonathon,
Rachel and Paul were campers,
too.
Karen Schade,'daughter of Bill
and Anne Schade has returned
home from University Hospital.
Mrs. Lloyd Willert spent a few
days at her home here prior to
entering Victoria Hospital,
London, for surgery.
Vacation Bible School: "Sing it
Out, Jesus Loves You" is the 1977
Vacation Bible School theme for
Zion Lutheran Church.
Pastor Mellecke announced
this week,"Summer is the time
for fun, so we've planned lots of
exciting activities . Thepurpose
of these activities is to discover
ways the Lord shows His love and
to praise Him for that love."
The Vacation Bible School
begins July 25 through August 5.
Classes are held at the church
from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. In addition
to Bible stories and crafts, Bible
learning ac tivities„recrea tion and
refreshments are also a part of
ROLLERSKATING
No roller skating this weekend, Friday,
Saturday and Sunday due to Zurich
Fair. Will resume Wednesday, July 27
and weekend.

Team wins
'13' trophy
Our new slow -pitch baseball
team, the Zurich Comets, flashed
to victory in a contest with 16
other teams Sunday at Walkerton
to bring home. the B Cham-
pionship Trophy.
The winning home -run was
made by Mark Regier, with one
on base in the fifth inning of the
final game.
Dan Overholt emerged as
Zurich's leading batter, with•
three home runs, a triple, a
double and four singles.
After losing their first game 4-
14 to Rodger's Dodgers of
Walkerton, the men bounced
back with wins against three
other Walkerton teams: 10-8
against Kelly's Heroes, 10-7
against Brad's Oil and 6-2 against
Spool and Bobbin.
The Zurich team is coached by
Dave Stark and sponsored by
Don's Food Market.
