Photo by McKinley Huron -Perth ball season opens The Huron -Perth baseball league, one of the oldest of its kind in the Province of Ontario will open the 1977 season on Sun- day, May 15, Bob Hoffman of Dashwood, president of the popular in- termediate baseball league reports that four teams will see action this summer. They are the Dashwood Tigers, Clinton Colts, Crediton Mets and Thorndale. The Crediton club will be augmented by several players from the now defunct Zurich Mets. In addition to playing a regular double home and home schedule the four Huron -Perth teams will participate in an interlocking series of home and home games with four London junior teams and junior clubs from Strathroy and Sarnia. The Dashwood Tigers will have an exceptionally busy year with an exhibition series against Walsingham and possibly a pair of games with Stratford juniors and Tillsonburg. Joe Fulop will be the manager of the Dashwood Tigers with Glenn Thurman and Bob Hoff- man assisting in coaching in ad- dition to their playing roles. Ever Young Club meets The Bayfield Ever Young Senior Citizens met in the Municipal Building, Thursday evening at 7:30 p,m. The president, Harry Baker chaired the meeting which was attended by 40 members. The secretary, Jeanne Lindsay gave a report on the Rally in Dashwood. Fifteen members of the Bayfield Club were in at- tendance at the Rally. Mrs. Margaret Larson and Harry Baker, dressed in costumes of the era, did a humorous act and sang, "When You and I Were Young Maggie." It was passed that the club purchase a full length mirror for the Lounge in the Senior Citizens Apartments. After discussion and voting a trip for May 25 was planned. It will be in the Kitchener area with luncheon at the Stone Crock, St, Jacobs. A picnic was planned for June 25 at Harbour Park, Goderich and also a tour of the Museum, On May 18, the Bayfield Club is invited to Goderich to meet with the Senior Citizens there. Charles Scotchmer then showed movies of Canada using the new screen and projector.
