There has to be a moral there somewhere. * * * :y In conversation with Mrs. Minnie Noakes follow- ing last Monday's election, Mrs. Noakes made men- tion that she would like to see better coverage of the county board of education meetings in the local press. While this writer can well appreciate the feelings of Mrs. Noakes, the simple facts of the matter are that this county's board of education is very well covered,., compared to other boards in , surrounding jurisdictions. In Huron County, there exists an organization known as the Bluewater Newspaper network. All papers in Huron are .members of the organization and have particular areas or "beats" which they cover for the network. For example, the Goderich Signal -Star covers county council and county board *of education while the Huron Expositor covers agricultural events in the county. In essence, the network is a co-operative that, provides balanced, county -wide coverage of major events. All public board of education meetings are covered and excellent coverage was provided on such issues as strikes and the book banning controversy. Education in this county has been given excellent coverage and this excellency will continue. Citizens News, November 23, 1978 Page 5 . K.
