Taking part in the ribbon cutting ceremony were Knight, Luther, McKinley, Riddell, Sinclair and Doug Mann of Thompson's representing the financial contributers to the project. Following the ceremony, a wine and cheese party was held. On Thursday night, the centre was jammed for the tours and public skating while on Friday evening a good crowd turned to see the game between the Zurich Buckeyes and Hensall. Saturday evening saw some exciting hockey played as the Hensall-Zurich Combines Junior D team from the early 1960's defeated the Zurich Old- timers 9-3.
