church anniversary

St. Peter's Lutheran
Church, Zurich, celebrated
the 100th Anniversary of the
present Church building on
this past4Sunday.
A full Church of members, -
friends and former
members were led in
worship by the Rev. Godfrey
Oelsner of London. Rev. H.
Gastmeier of Stratford
delivered the message and
Mr. Paul Fischer of
Waterloo read• the Scripture
lesson.
Two anthems were sung
by the Junior choir, directed
by Mrs. Fred Haberer, and
Miss Elaine Westlake
rendered a solo, `Bless This
House". Mrs. Gary
Eagleson presided at the'
organ.
The congregation was hap-
py to receive a telegram on
this special day from the
former Pastor Rev. and
Mrs. Andrew Blackwell now
residing in Arnprior.
Following the service, a
buffet luncheon was served
. in the basement of the
Church, by the Lutheran
Church Women.
A display area in the
educational wing displaying
old pictures of former
Pastors, Confirmation
classes, old church papers,
oil painting and two
miniature models of the pre-
sent church building were
viewed by the gathering.
