Learn soil
preparation
The Zurich, Weary
Weeders held their second
meeting on June 7 for their
garden club at Darlene
Steckle's. They opened with
the 4-H pledge. Sylvia Neeb
was absent.
The preparation of the soil
before planting begins was
discussed. You should work •
the ground thoroughly with...
the rotatiller, add fertilizer,
work fertilizer in and rake it
and clear stones etc., away.
Each girl gave a report of
her garden. Some vegetables
they hadn't tried to grow
before were: lima beans,
Cress, brussel sprouts, Tiny
Tim tomatoes, and spinach.
