Staff photo Interested in heritage conservation Conference group will tour village Mrs. Doris Hunter and Mrs. Wallace lunched Thursday last with Mr. George Capelos and Mrs. Stefanos of the ministry of culture and recreation. They were in Bayfield to arrange a tour for three busloads of people interested in heritage conservation who will be touring the Village on Wednesday evening May 24 following an Architectural Conservancy Conference in London. Plan hike Bayfield Brownies are planning a hike for Saturday, and are to meet at the Parish Hall at 11 a.m. and will return there at 1:30 p.m. They will not need to wear their uniforms but are asked to dress warmly for the hike along the lake. In case of rain the hike will be post- poned until the following Saturday and a regular meeting at 10 a.m. will be held in its place. May Start Company Brownie leader, Mrs. Eleanor Ritchie has offered to start a Guide Company in the fall and assistants are badly needed for Brownies and Guides. Meeting Changed Mothers of Brownies, Cubs, and Scouts are informed that there will not be a ladies auxiliary meeting Saturday morning, as planned, instead it will be held on Saturday morning, May 13 at 10 a.m. The women are reminded to bring along plant slips for the exchange. Few trout Although rainbow fishing season opened this past weekend and anglers were standing shoulder to shoulder along the Bayfield River there were no reports of any fantastic catches. An extended borrowing Recently a woman walked into an OPP office and handed a life preserver to one of the officers in charge. Upon asking her if she had found it she replied "No --she had "borrowed" it ten years ago and her conscience had been bothering her." The life preserver is now back at the Bayfield River where it rightfully belonged. Persona Is Dr. Rob and Doris Hunter have returned from Toronto after a visit with their son-in- law, daughter and grand- children, Rev. Paul and Sally Beth MacLean, Conan, Avery and Dougald. Sally Beth and children had been here for a visit and had returned home to Toronto with her parents.Rev.'Paul had also been a guest of the Hunter's for a couple of days. Mrs. Ilse Gemeinhardt and Mrs. Elane Brandon at- tended a fashion show of hair styles and clothing in London on Monday last, and also enjoyed a lovely dinner. Mr. and Mrs. George Clark have returned home after their winter holiday in the sunny south. Blair Brandon left last Sunday for Calgary, Alberta where he will be spending the next eight months. Blair, a son of Ken and Elane Brandon, will be working with a construction firm in connection with his schooling in Construction Engineering and Technology at Fan- shawe College.
