Troyan on behalf of Ron Samways to issue a Cer- tificate of Approval for a Hayfield hy Mlllvena Erickson Class four sewage system which was to have been located on a closed road allowance known as Victoria Street. The certificate had been refused by the Director on January 4. Scouts Meet Scout leaders, cub leaders, venturers and group com- mittee members from Goderich, Vanastra, Clinton, Bayfield, Lucan, Exeter, Crediton, Stratford and Ailsa Craig gathered in Bayfield on Friday evening and Saturday for instruction in Part One of a Woodbadge course. Course leader was the Assistant District Com- missioner of Huron District council, Walter Thomas of Goderich. Friday evening's program included the history and structure of Scouting; Aims, principles and program objectives; cub and scout law and promise as well as discipline and uniforms. Saturday was a full day, beginning at 9 a.m. and running through until closing exercises at 8 p.m. and in- cluded such topics as Understanding the Age; scouting role in the com- munity; nature craft and outdoor activities and games and how to use them. The ladies auxiliary to the scouting movement in Bayfield served lunch during Friday sessions_ and also Saturday. The scouters enjoyed a lunch on Saturday at noon. Saturday evening dinner was served in St. Andrew's United Church and prepared by the L.A. Thanks is ex- tended to all Mothers who helped and also those who sent food. Bullen defence fund A total of $1441 was stew .112=11001.011•11.11=k FAITH AND LIFE CRUSADE The local Faith and Life Crusade had a good nightly attendance, with the Zurich Arena Auditorium crowded to standing room capacity the last evening, many spiritual blessings were present and received. The speakers this year were supplied by 100 Huntley St., Toronto a newly organized T.V. and telephone counselling mission dedicated to the salvation of souls and strengthening of those seeking spiritual help. This programe can be seen daily A.M. on Global Channel 6 Toronto. The local Crusade has a mission project each year, this year all above the actual operation costs went to 100 Huntley St. and with the Lords blessing a goodly amount was sent to that work. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rohde, Woodham spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ross Merrill. Mr. Ray Mills, Atwood, visited Saturday with his brother-in-law, sister and nephew, Floyd, Mary and Wayne Diemert. Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Parker were in London from Friday until Sunday to be present at the arrival of the Royal Hudson 2860 from Van- couver. One of the largest steam locomotives on the North American Continent, pulled 19 cars depicting the early exploration of the Western Coast by Captain James Cook and the in- dustries of B.C. Their son Bill was fireman and part-time engineer from Toronto to London. After a two day stop over in London on Saturday night he was again one of the crew to take it to Windsor. This locomotive now burns oil and is on a cross -Canada tour promoting the Bicentennial Anniversary of Captain Cook and the promotion of Tourism in B.C.
