COMMUNITY CENTRE FUND
The Kinsmen Club will undertake to complete their canvass in Hensall for our new
Community Centre during the evenings of April 24th and 25th. There were a number
of residents who were either_not at home or requested a call-back during the canvass
for funds in 1977. There wererothers who made part of their donation last year and
would like to give the remainder this year. To date $140,570.00 has been collected
towards a total of $175,000.00. Please have your donation ready when the can-
vassers call. You may wish to take your donation direct to any of the following Fund
Raising Committee Members:

Does your home require upgrading and maintenance work?
It could be very possible that you qualify for funds to assist you, under the Ontario
Home Renewal Program.
This program is directed to the rehabilitation of dwellings with faulty structural or
other related conditions, placing special emphasis on upgrading of plumbing,
heating and electrical systems.
Yes — roofing, siding and insulation do qualify under the program.
Am 1 eligible?
A homeowner may be eligible for assistance if the "adjusted family income" does not
exceed $12,500.00.
What does "adjusted family income" mean?
The income of the principal wage earner and his or her spouse during the 12 months
immediately preceding the date of application, after deducting therefrom the
following:
1. The earnings of the spouse or $1,000 whichever is the lesser.
11. $300 for each dependent child
1 1 1. The first $1,000 of earning of a one -parent family
What funds are available?
The homeowner is eligible for a loan up to $7,500.00, part of which may be
forgivable.

assist you.

"The best tournament
ever" was the way Marlene
Bedard described the latest
edition of the businessman's
bowling tournament held
Sunday at the Towne and
Country bowling lanes.
The'36 bowlers came from
as far away as Tavistock,
London and Goderich to
compete for cash and prizes
donated by 21 Zurich and
area businesses.
Taking first prize of $100
was Steve Huras of Stratford
followed by Jim McWhinney
of Goderich, Eric Matzold of
Seaforth and Dori Wright of
Stratford.
Rounding out the
remaining top ten bowlers of
the day were Gary Black,
Rick Wood, Seaforth, Roger
Bennewies, London, Bill
Wilson, Stratford, Don
McWhinney, Goderich and
Al Pelly, Stratford.
Placing first and second in
the high five competition
were Gene Ohler of
Tavistock and Jim Bedard of
Zurich.
The high game of the day
competition was taken by
Art Burt of Goderich.
Following the tournament

the bowling lanes expressed
