anniversary
Mr. & Mrs. Jack Corbett
celebrated their 45th wed-
ding anniversary on
Saturday evening when they
entertained the members of
their family to a dinner at
the Pineridge Chalet.

sons, Mr. & Mrs. Robert
Chaffe and family, Mitchell,
Mr. & Mrs. Al Corbett and
family, Mrs. Blanche
Chapman, London, Mr. &
Mrs. Joe Flynn, Hensall.
Mr. & Mrs. Leslie Adams
Exeter were recent visitors
with Mr. & Mrs. Jack Cor-
bett.

returned home after spen-
ding the winter months with
their daughter and son-in-
law and family Mr. & Mrs.
Don Avery in Deerfield
Park, Florida.
Rev. Fox conducted
service in Carmel
Presbyterian Church on
Sunday, his sermon was
taken from the Acts of the
Apostles and he will deliver a
series of sermons' from this
book of the Bible. The
flowers in the church were
placed in loving memory of
the late Mr. Edgar Munn by
his family.
Ron Doiron, RR 3 Exeter,
has purchased the property
of Mr. & Mrs. Don McCurdy,
Main Street. Mr. & Mrs.
McCurdy and family have
taken up -residence on a farm
near Centralia.
Mrs. Doris Bonthron of
London spent several days
last week at the home of her
son and daughter-in-law Mr.
& Mrs. Bevan Bonthiron.
Mrs. Blanche Chapman,
London was a weekend
visitor with her brother-in-
law and sister Mr. & Mrs.
Jack Corbett.
Susan Luther graduated
April 14 from the Ontario
Police College, Aylmer,
Ontario. She has been a
Policewoman with the
Waterloo Regional Police
Force since January, 1977.
She is the daughter of Mr. &
Mrs. Eric Luther, Hensall.
Mr. & Mrs. Austin Wheeler
returned to their home in
Detroit this week after
spending the past week with
their aunt Mrs. Edgar Munn.
Mrs. Laird Mickle and
Mrs. Florence Joynt were
guests Sunday with the
formers son and daughter-
in-law, Dr. & Mrs. Robert
Mickle and family in
Cambridge.
EDGAR MUNN
Edgar Wilfred Munn was
born in Hay Township on
April 28, 1892, the son of
Peter and Eliza Jane
(Eacrett) Munn. Sisters
Lulu and Cora are
predeceased and Bertha
Blackwell of California
survives. He served in the
First World War 1914-1918
with the 161st Battalion.
Upon returning home he
farmed on the 2nd con-
cession of Hay Township for
30 years, then retired to the
village of Hensall.
He served as an elder of
the Presbyterian Church in
Hensall and was a member
of the IOOF Lodge. In 1976
the Royal Canadian Legion
presented him with a 50 year
membership Medal. Edgar
and his wife Mabel
celebrated their 55th wed-
ding anniversary in October
1977.
He enjoyed a healthy and
active retirement up to three
years ago. Following a
recent illness he passed ,
away. at South Huron
Hospital, Exeter, April 10,
1978. He is survived by his
wife Mabel A. (Swan) Munn.
a daughter Mrs. Aileen
Gooding and three grand-
children.
