I've never seen so many people in one place that I've known." As the good natured bantering between the audience and the performers dies down, the crystal clear voices of Roy MacAdams and Helen Duguay ring throughout the beverage room of the Red Gables hotel for the umpteenth show, a number that these two talented performers can't recall. Their stage name, You and Me could notbe more fitting; down to earth people who play down to earth music. During a four year stint in the air force Roy began playing the guitar because "there wasn't much else to do." ' His first job professionally was that of a base player for a country and western band. Following stints with a number of bands, Roy first teamed up with Helen in 1970. Just as the band which Helen had been singing with broke up, Roy was forming a band of his own. While Roy and Helen have been performing together since 1970 with various bands, You and Me was not formed until 1975. One of their more memorable moments during this phase of their career was playing for six months at the Whitehorse Inn in Whitehorse, Yukon. Returning to Ontario in 1975 this time as a duo, You and Me played the circuit in Ontario up until the early portion of last year when they ventured to the Maritimes, playing in the four provinces. The Newfoundland audiences "are great" stated. Helen. An album for You and Me is in the offing with a trip planned for Nashville this spring for that purpose. The group had recorded a single in 1975. According to Roy, the couple are hoping to expand the group so that a wider spectrum of music can be covered. You and Me: nice people who play nice music.
