Midgets meet Teeswater in next round
In WOAA hockey play off
action, the Hensall-Zurich
midgets have advanced
beyond past the first round,
es they defeated Elma-
Logan in a best of three
series, Teeswater is their
next opposition.
In the game that clinched
the series for the midgets,
Kerry Bedard hit for two
goals as they defeated Elma-
Logan Monday evening in
Monkton by a 7-3 score.
Elma-Logan hit the score
sheet first but H -Z came with
two goals only seconds
apart. Kevin Parker scored
from Rob Pryde-and it was
Pryde who assisted on the
next goal by Bryan Baker.
H -Z then scored four more
goals sandwiched around a
lone effort by Elma-Logan.
Steve Grainger, Terry
Bedard and Kerry Bedard
with two, put the game out of
reach. Kerry Bedard, Grant
Love, Pryde and Baker
assisted.
Following a goal by Elma-
Logan, David Vanstone
scored an unassisted goal.

game. Boyce scored from

home team came back two
goals to take a 2-1 lead.
Boyce's second goal of the
game tied the contest. Kerry
Bedard assisted.
Two goals by Grainger and
Kerry Bedard put the
midgets out in front till the
middle of the second period
but Elma-Logan scored four
goals to regain the lead.
Kerry and Terry Bedard
assisted on the H -Z goals.
Combines beat
Marauders 13-1
Rick Ingram and Terry
Caldwell each scored three
goals and picked up two
assists as the Hensall
Combines hammered the
Huron Park Marauders 13-1
Sunday afternoon.
Next in line was Brian
Campbell with one goal and
four assists followed by Dan
Taylor with a goal and three
assists. Steve Knight and Bill
Chipchase each had a goal
and two assists while Fred
Campbell and Sandy Ingram
had a goal and an assist.
The midgets rallied for
four goals in the third to eke
out the victory. Grainger
witk three goals and Boyce
with the single accounted for
'the scoring. Kerry Bedard,
Love, Mommersteeg and
Grainger picked up the
assists.

over Parkhill team
In a game that saw the
lead change hands several
.times, the Zurich Flyers held
on to defeat the Parkhill
Merchants 6-5 Sunday af-
ternoon in Zurich.
Parkhill scored the first
two goals of the game but
Kim McKinnon scored
midway through the second
to put the Fliers within one
goal of the lead. Marty
Becker assisted.

Following a Parkhill
score, the Flyers came back
with three consecutive goals
by Glen Overholt, Kim
McKinnon and Pat Bedard to
tie the game. Bedard, Randy
McKinnon, Rick Grenier,
Becker and Steve Bedour
picked up the assists.
The Merchants regained
the lead again, but only to
have Bob Farquhar and
Becker of the Flyers put the
home team into a two goal
lead with but 43 seconds left
in the game.
The squad from north
Middlesex did not give up, as
they came within one goal of
the Flyers as they scored
with only 18 seconds to play
in the game.
The Flyers next game is
Sunday against arch -rival
Hensall.
