ZURICH CITIZENS NEWS' THURSDAY, DECEMBER 5, 1974
Golden Glimpses . e , a
The weekend ushered in the
month of December, and
everywhere one looks, the
Christmas decorations have
begun to pop up. We are
grateful to Mrs. Meda O'Brien
for taking time to brighten up
the various windows in the
Horne. Many of the residents
enjoy watching the paintings
as they progress, it also pro-
motes the Christmas Spirit
somewhat.
Plans are underway for the
residents' Christmas party
which will take place on Frid-
ay evening, December 13th
beginning at 7 p.m. Families
and friends of the residents
are invited to attend.
The films shown on Monday
evening were "Figi and Christ-
mas Cracker" after which
coffee and cookies were served.
On Wednesday evening the
Ladies of the Zurich Mennonite
Church provided a program for
the residents, The young
people of the "Teen Joy" group
provided several musical
numbers as well as some of
the children from the junior
department of the Sunday
School. Following the
program, refreshments and a
social time was enjoyed.
We are sorry to report that
Mr. John Jones is a patient in
St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
however, according to reports,
he will be returning soon.
Some of our residents are
working very hard in the hobby
shop these days trying to keep
up with Christmas orders for
various articles. If any of our
readers find they have odds and
ends of materials that might be
useful for crafts, we would be
pleased to receive them,
Friday evening bingo was
enjoyed followed by refresh-
ments. I might say that several
of the residents are participat-
ing in the Exeter Lion's bingo
which creates a bit of interest
for them each day as the numb-
ers are called in to us,
The Sunday evening Chapel
service was cancelled due to
the stormy weather, making
travelling too hazardous for
the Minister and the organist.
