ALL ABOUT BAYFIELD INTERESTING HAPPENINGS IN ONTARIO'S (PRETTIEST VILLAGE Mr. and Mrs. Bert Greer and Patti, R.R.3, Bayfield, spent Saturday with their son-in-law daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Robinson, Randy and Scott in Goderich. Mr, and Mrs. Hugh Pollock and Steven of London and Mr. Ernie Pollock, Varna were weekend guests of Mrs. Milton Pollock, Goshen Line. Mr. and Mrs: Bili Parker were in Sarnia on Wednesday and Thursday visiting friends. Mr. and Mrs. Dave Watson, London, were weekend guests' of Mr. and Mrs. Rob Irwin and Robbie. Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Erickson spent Sunday in Port Huron, Michigan. The Ladies Guild of Trinity Anglican Church reported a very successful Bazaar on Sat- urday. The ladies say a very big thank you to all those who donated and patronized the event to make it so successful. Cooper, Mount Clemens, Michigan was at his village residence for the weekend. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Meyer, Michelle and Marsha, Waterloo spent the weekend with her mother. Mrs. Spinny Ervine. Mrs. Meyer and children rem- ained with her mother for the rest of the week. Mrs. Ivon Steckle visited last week in Toronto and while there attended the Royal Winter Fair. Mr. Gawain Johns and Mr. John Rawls, Mount Clemens were weekend guests of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cooper. The Bayfield Figure Skating Club will be accepting regist- rations on Saturday morning at the Arena from 11;30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Skating is to start on Wednesday evening, December 4 at 7 p.m. Due to the increase costs of ice rental the Club have found it necessar' to raise their fees. Anyone interestedin joining the Adult Skating Group is asked to cont- act Jan Simons any evening. Sincere sympathy is extend- ed to Mr. Stewart Middleton in the loss of his wife Grace. Mr. Leslie Elliott of Bayfield was presented with an engraved Sterling Silver Long Service medal on Friday at Bayfield by the Supervisory Postmaster, Mr. Dick Dixon of Clinton. Mr. Elliott was honoured for 45 years continuous service as a mail carried in the South Western Ontario area; although Mr. Elliott has been driving the mail routes for 56 years, 45 of these are continuous. The medal is only the third one to be presented in the area which includes 101 Post Offices, covering an area from Strathroy to the south; Goderich to the North; Fergus to the north east and Galt to the south east. On hand at the Bayfield Post Office for the presentation were Mr. Ira Jones, District Area Retiring Manager, Mr. Harold Elder, incoming District Area Manager, both of London, and Mr. Ernest Hovey, Bayfield Postmaster. He was the husband of the form, er Marine Devine. Surviving are three sons, Lloyd and Willis. 12.12.1, Dashwood, and Mervin, of R,R,I, Grand Bend; three daugh ters, Mrs. Harold (Gladys) Peck, R. R.1, Zurich, Mrs. George (Evelyn) John, of Wind- sor, and Mrs. Heilke (Jean) Berends, of Hensall; one broth- er, Ed Walper, of Parkhill, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Mollard, R. R. 3, Parkhill. There are also 18 grandchild- ren and five great grandchild- ren. The body rested at the T. Harry Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood, where the service took place on Saturday, Nov- ember 23, at 2 p.m. , with Rev. H. Dobson officiating. Interment was in the Grand Bend Cemetery.
