To awaken and find your
windows frosted up and have
to get out and scrape car
windshields and windows,
brings us to the realization
that we could be in the clutches
of winter. However, a nice
sunny brisk day is much more
uplifting than the rain and fog
we have been experiencing.

in Zurich
Miss Clara Riggs, a Canad-
ian Missionary returned from
India, was the speaker at the
annual meeting of the Zurich
Branch of the Canadian Bible
Society last Sunday.
She had lived and served in
the territory where a Canadian
pioneer, missionary nurse Miss
Moore saw the Christian pop-
ulation grow from one candid-
ate for baptism to over ten
thousand in one generation.
A film of the area was shown
bearing the name Serango
Harvest which featured the
work of Nurse Moor, who learn.
ed the Serango language and
translated the Books of John
and Proverbs into it.
The Rev. J.C. Thompson,
Executive Secretary of the
Western Ontario District spoke
of the Zurich Branch as one of
the "strong" branches in his
district.
Harvey Hohner the local
treasurer reported that over
eight hundred dollars($800)
had been sent to the Bible Soc-
iety in 1973 and that the can-
vass for 1974 was proceeding
well, although he had four
routes within the village to
be covered as yet.
Officers chosen for 1975 are
Stuart Steckle, Past President,
Russell Oesch, President; Don-
ald Rawlings, vice-president;
Ronald Heimrich, Treasurer;
and Paul Steckle to continue
as secretary.
The organist was Mrs. Audrey
Haberer.
Four gospel hymns were sung
by Mr. and Mrs. Earl Heywood,
of Wingham, one of which was
written by Mr. Heywood. The
offering was designated for the
Canadian Bible Society. The
meeting and service was held
in St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
