CONSERVE THAT HEAT
The biggest factor in Home
Energy Consumption this winter
will be the heating system,

of Canada. Make sure the heat
is going where you want it and
make sure it doesn't get away!
If a room is unused, shut off
its heat and close the door. If
you like to sleep with your bed-
room windown open, keep the
door closed. Blinds and drapes
will keep the heat in on dull
days and in the evening, but
should be opened when the sun
shines.

According to statistics, this
time last year we had snow on
the ground. All the rain we
have is not very morale building
except perhaps for those who
are our of water, but at least
it does not pile up like snow.
We are very grateful to Mrs.
Catherin Prevett, of Goderich
for delivering our films to us
every weekend sto that we have
then for Monday evening show-
ing. We would still appreciate
any assistance you might be
able to give us in having them
returned by Wednesday noon.
The films shown on Monday
evening were "Adventure High
Arctic and "Cattle Ranch."

Smiles
A shipwrecked sailor who had
spent three years on a desert
island was overjoyed one day to
see a ship drop anchor in the bay.
A small boat came ashore, and an
officer handed the sailor a batch
of newspapers.
"The captain suggests." he
told the marooned sailor, "(hat
you read what's going on in the
world ... and then let us know if
you still want to be rescued."

On Wednesday evening the

were entertained to a musical
program by the Gelinas Brothers
Following the program, cheese,
fruit bread, tea and coffee were
served.
The sympathy of residents
and staff is extended to the
family of the late Mrs. Maggie

Since Thursday was one of
our more pleasant days weather-

bus ride through the Grand Bend
Crediton and Exeter areas.
Friday evening bingo was
enjoyed, followed by refresh-
ments.
We welcome Mrs. Etta
Young as a new resident to our

The Sunday evening chapel
service was conducted by Rev.
Schlenker of Crediton. Mrs.
Finkbeiner presided at the organ
and accompanied Mr. and Mrs.
Schlenker, Jr., who sang a
duet.
Please keep in mind the ann-
ual anniversary tea and bake
sale which will be held on
Saturday, November 16 from
2 to 4 p.m. The Auxiliary will
be most appreciative of any
donations of baking or bazaar
items which you might see fit
to donate. In any case, we
hope you will have a few min-
utes to drop in and enjoy the
tea and social time.
