The Rundle family, Dianne, Sharon, Mary -Lou and Murray, of Exeter, provided special music. Dianne played an acc- ordion solo, and the group sang "The Gospel Train" and "This Little Light of Mine." Ivlrs. Eleanor Brown read three poems, "What is Life? ", "May This Be Our Aim, " and "Others." Mrs. Tom Meyers shared a poem -storey on Remembrance. The hymn, "Amazing Grace" was sung, the offering was received and dedicated, and Mrs. Truemner offered prayer. Mrs. Leroy O'Brien conduct- ed the business meeting, and began by suggesting that all members promote and advertise the church and organization, to increase interest. Various committee reports were heard. A motion of app- reciation to the Lutheran Ladies for their help on the occasion of Emmanuel's Anniversary was approved. Miss Ethel Gabel presented the report of the nominating committee's slate of officers for 1975, which was adopted. A social hour followed and lunch was served. 0 Obituary HENRY A. FLAXBARD A life- long resident of this area, Henry Andrew Flaxbard passed away at the Blue Water Rest Hcme, on Tuesday, Nov- ember 12, in his 89th year. He was born in Hay Township on August 21, 1886, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Flaxbard. His wife, the former Bertha Rosa Brenner, pre -deceased him some years ago. Surviving are two sons, Earl, of Zurich, and William, of Stratford; and one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Vera) Thiel, of Zurich. Another daughter, Mrs. Greta Dohnage, pre -dec- eased him. There are also 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The body is resting at the Westlake Funeral Hoine, Zur- ich, where the service will take place on Thursday, Nov- ember 14 at 2 p. in. Interment will be made in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Goshen Line, with Rev. A.C. Black- well officiating. Over 140 guests were received at the door by the couple's three children, Mrs. Howard (Eleanor McCullough; Mrs. Melvin (Doris) Bennett, and Tom Pen - hale. Mr. and Mrs. Penhale were married in the then Glendale Methodist Church, Westminist- er Township, on November 8, 1924, by the Rev. Sutcliffe. After a short honeymoon they came to reside on the Bronson Line, Stanley Township, where they have lived all their marr- ied life. A dinner catered to by the U. C. W. of St. Andrew's United Church, Bayfield, was held during the dinner hour Saturday evening. Joining the celebrants were their nine grandchildren, one great grandson and relatives and friends. The tea table was presided over during the Open House by Mrs. Marie Scott, St. Thomas, and Mrs. Anna Curtis, London. Serving were granddaughters Misses Marlene and Joan Ben- nett, Goderich, Wendy Pen - hale, Bayfield, and Mrs. Lynn McCullough, Stratford. Miss Pamela Curtis, London, was in charge of the guest book. Guests were present from St. Thomas, Kitchener, London, Stratford, Seaforth and surroun: ding area. Congratulatory telegrams and messages were received from the various parl- iamentary dignataries along with most beautiful gifts and cards.
