Zurich Institute
attend workshop
Members of Zurich Women's
Institute attended the Nutrition
Workshop sponsored by the
Ontario Ministr} . •rgriculture
and Food held last week in the
Legion Hall at Hensall.
This workshop showed many
ways of providing an adequate
diet with the proper nutritional
value. Most cans of food now
show on their labels the ingred-
ients contained in the food
inside.
As obesity is the number one
problem facing most adults
today, some suggestions as to
how this could be controlled
in the community were by
serving simple lunches at gath-
erings, such as cheese and
crackers or fresh fruits or raw
vegetables. People can also
join clubs such as Weight Wat-
chers or Tops, where good meal
habits are taught.
As the fat cells in a body
are formed in the first years of
life, people should avoid the
overstuffing of children.
