The second meeting of Zurich
I was held at the home of
Martha Neeb, on September 25.
This rneeting was about table
service and manners. We learn-
ed the different types of dinner
ware and some hints on purch-
asing. Linda also taught us the
three types of flatware which
are sterling, silver plate and
stainless steel. Martha taught
us what patterns and types
of flatware, dishes, and table
coverings go well together.
Mary Ann, Joyce, Mary
Ellen, and Elaine demonstrated
the different types of place
settings such as informal, for-
mal and everyday. Linda read
all about table manners. Ruby
and Marg gave a small demon-
stration how they would act if
they were a hostess and a guest.
Separate School Board
(continued from page 1)
studying the report of the pilot
project on teaching the Family
Life program to Grade 8 stud-
ents last spring, be prepared to
report back to the board soon.
He said he hoped to see the
same program implemented
to Grade seven pupils as well
as Grade 8 this year. Francis
Hicknell, a member of the
Family Life Advisroy Commit-
tee, said he thought a report
could be ready for the Novemb-
er meeting.
The Board prepared a policy
covering school custodians,
giving consideration to the sel-
ection and supervision of cust-
odial staff and the maintenance
of co-operation and commun-
ication among the principal and
staff, and custodian and the
board office. The policy covers
the hiring, the training. the
supervision of duties, maintain-
ing the school buildings and
premises in a proper sanitary
condition, communication
links for custodians and the
rules for dismissal if necessary
for breach of contract.
The meeting adjourned
shortly before midnight.
