Amber Bebekehs
The re -opening meeting of
Amber Rebekah Lodge was held
recently in the lodge rooms
with N.G. Mrs. Aldeen Volland
presiding and being assisted
by V.G. Mrs. Margaret Cousin,
Mrs. Olga Chipchase gave
the district report which was
held in Brussels on July 3 when
fifty-three past grands attended,
The installation of officers
of the Rebekah Lodge will be
held on October 2 and the Gran(
Masters banquet will be held
at the Brucefield school in the
near future.
The D.D.P. for 1973-74,
Mrs. Mary Grigg's report was
read by the recording secretary,
Mrs. Leona Parke. P.N.G.
Mrs. Olga Chipchase gave a
report of a bus trip to the Home
in Barrie.
Junior P.N.G. Mrs. Irene
Blackwell gave a detailed
report of the Rebekah Assembly
which she attended in Toronto
in June.
SEPTEMBER MEETING
The September meeting of
Unit II was held September 9
at the church, Irene Blackwell
chaired the meeting and open-
ed with a poem "My Ideals."
Miss Sue Ann Schroeder ent-
ertained everyone with vocal
solos accompanying herself on
the guitar,
Sadie Hoy conducted the
worship period using as her
theme 'To -day is the first day
of the rest of our lives." Helen
Drysdale, for the topic of the
evning, read articles from
"Cameos, " women fashioned
by God; the story of Dale Evans,
the Queen of the west. Because
of the October general meeting
on October 7, and also Thanks-
giving, Unit II will not meet
for a regular October meeting.
Oliver Jaques returned home
on Friday from St. Joseph's
Hospital, in London after
having had surgery.
Mrs. Carl Payne is a patient
in Seaforth Community Hospit-
al.

Hensall institute
After a delicious pot luck
supper, Hensall Women's lnst-
itute held their September
meeting. During supper the
roll call was answered by 22
members and two guests with
"Name an officer in F.W.1. 0.
Plans were finalized for a
bus trip on September 12 to
Hamilton. Correspondence was
a bazaar at Huronview on Nov-
ember 6, where they are going
to sell aprons and anyone who
wished to donate an apron can
give them to Grace Peck by
October 21,
An invitation was received
from Zurich W.I. inviting
Hensall to a desert party on
September 20 at 7 p.m. in
Hay Township Hall, Twelve
members hope to attend.
South Huron Hospital Tag
Day will be held during the
last week of September, and
anyone interested in canvassing
is asked to contact Grace Peck.
The Children's Aid Bursary
financial statement was report-
ed on.
A card of thanks was read
from Linda Mock thanking the
Institute for a tray that she
had received in appreciation
for helping with 4-H. Susan
plan events
Purdy thanked everyone for the
sympathy cards sent to her
after the death of her sister.
The program convenors for
the evening were Susan Purdy
and Mabel Shirray, Susan int-
roduced the guest speaker for
the evening, Eric Mansfield, a
teacher at Hensall and Zurich
Public Schools, who spoke on
the topic "Public Relations",
He said public relations is how
we appear to others interpreting
or improving a group or individ-
ual.
The duties of the president
were outlined by the president,
Hilda Payne. A news letter
from Mrs. Noblitt was read by
the secretary, Janis Bisback.
Hostesses were Sara Simpson
and Joyce Pepper.

Unit 1 of UCW
study papers
On September 12, Unit I
met in the Hensall United
Church with Audrey Joynt
presiding. Accompanied by
Helen Goddard on the piano,
the meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn followed by

passages of scripture from Acts.
Mrs. Joynt gave her devot-
ional thoughts on "What is
Grace?" She read some para-
graphs from John Robinson's
book entitled "Honest to God, "
"grace is beyond us, in the
sense that it is not ours to
command," She closed the
devotional with prayer.
The roll call was answered
by 32 members. The matters
of business were the general
meeting the first Monday of
October at 8 p,m. Unit I are
hostesses for this meeting, so
hopefully all members will
attend and remember to bring
in their special offering for
this thank offering meeting.
It was voted unanimously to
cancel the regular meeting in
October because of the general
meeting the same week,
Mrs. Joynt thanked all who
helped with the meeting. Mrs.
Audrey Christie had the study,
using articles from daily papers
and the Observer, about some
of the latest good work of Dr.
Bob McClure.
The meeting closed with
the benediction, after which a
contest was conducted by Mrs.
Jean Travers. Hostesses Mrs,
Margaret Consitt and her help-
er, Lois Shapter, served a tasty
lunch.
